"really now? that isn't very fair, because you know, na jaemin, i seriously feel the same way as you."

with that, the smile on jaemin's face was wiped off and his expression turned cold.

"you don't deserve to like her."

"yeah? what you think doesn't matter though. what matters is what she thinks, isn't that right?" wooyoung shrugs.

and then a smug smile appears on his face.

"hey, how about this, jaemin?" he says as he begins suggesting something.

.
.
.

"well, good luck then, na jaemin." he waves and just like that, he disappears from jaemin's line of sight, probably off to chase the girl again.

jaemin clenches his fists tightly and mumbles, "whether or not she's mine, she'll never be yours."

THIRD PERSON

"hana, please, wait!" wooyoung cried and dashed up to her as she was about to leave the school.

she ignores him and continues to speed walk forward, only for him to grab her wrist to stop her.

"listen, hana. if you don't believe me so be it, but please, at least listen to me, alright?" he pleaded and she forced herself to turn around.

she decided that she wouldn't act the same way he did before and shrug away someone who was being genuine.

"what is it?"

wooyoung smiles at her reply and pulls away from her.

"as i was saying...back at Busan, i seriously regret the mean words i told you. when you left, i just...realised how much you actually mean to me. i found myself visiting the library we used to go so much. when i arrived in Seoul, i just had to visit the library. it reminded me of you. that was why we met that day."

she slowly looks up at him. "is that all you have to say?"

wooyoung shakes his head.

"there's one last thing i want to tell you exactly. what you mean to me. hana, i was a fool to not recognise my feelings earlier. i actually...i like you, hana."

her lips parted in surprise as wooyoung confessed his feelings.

she then casts her eyes towards the ground in confusion. "you're lying."

"no...i'm not, hana."

"alright then. what do you expect from me then? why are you telling me this now?"

"i just wanted to finally tell you how i feel. i know you may not believe me. you don't have to give me an answer now..."

hana closed her eyes for a second and huffed.

"okay, fine. i get it. just...give me time, wooyoung."

THIRD PERSON

"hana." jaemin whispers to her right before the last bell would ring.

she tilts her head slightly towards him.

"about the handing up of the history project later on, i can't come with you." he says, and she nods.

"okay. then i'll hand it up to the teacher myself," she hesitates before speaking up again.

he was the one who volunteered to hand it up instead since he was sure to be free, but now...

"why can't you make it, jaemin?"

he seemed a little surprised by her question as he abruptly straightened his back.

he had been side glancing her but his eyes returned to his desk.

his lips curved into a small grin. "well...it's something between me and wooyoung."

her face fell immediately.

"what business does he have with you?"

jaemin cradles his head in his palm as he ponders if he should tell her.

but he didn't anymore since she started saying,

"tell me. he's not giving you any trouble, right?"

"don't worry, he's not...we just decided to have a little bet. through a basketball game."

hana knits her brows in curiously. she had a feeling she may or may not be happy about this.

"and what exactly is the bet, jaemin?"

jaemin sighs. "don't be angry when i tell you this, but..."

"the loser has to give up on you."
