No Strings Attached

I followed her instructions and started to feel a little bit better. "I'm not letting you ride you bike if you're still nervous. That's dangerous. We can stay a little bit longer,"

"I think I can drive safely right now. Thank you. I owe you so much right now,"

She smacked my butt lightly and told me to leave already. I laughed at her. I didn't know what I would do if she weren't there.

"Soy milk is on me tomorrow! Get home safely!" I shouted at her, knowing how she loves that drink. Daphgne grinned at me and waved goodbye.

"Dad! Athena the ugly just got home!" My annoying brother said right after I stepped inside the house. I threw my slippers at him and it fell on his right eye.

I hugged my dad and sneered at my brother who's eyeing me. I'm the favorite child, brother. Now suck it up!

While eating dinner, my dad kept on asking me about what happened to school. Of course, I told him everything except for the Yuzuru fiasco. He would be worried as hell. I tried my best to eat faster and to not get caught by my sly brother. He knows when something is off just by my movements. 

"I'm going upstairs," I told them as I placed the dishes on the sink.

"You're going already?" Apollo asked. I nodded and went straight to my room before he start asking again. I've run out of energy to even argue with him.

I flopped myself in bed, letting my face be covered in pillows. This day is incredibly awful. From avoiding Yuzuru to escaping that disastrous scene. My mind still can't process on how things took a major turn. 

I'm seriously wishing that something magical happens and then erased everyone's memories of what happened earlier.

"You're already in school?" Daphgne said. Just from her voice I knew that she just woke up.

"I couldn't get any work done yesterday so I went here earlier," I said, placing my things on the table.

She told me that she will arrive in a minute but I reassured her that I will be fine alone. Since it's my fault that I got too preoccupied by Yuzuru. I don't want to disturb her even more because our call last night lasted for hours. Daphgne listened to my rants and worries without complaining.

I ended the call and started to focus on my work. Luckily, only few students are inside the library since it's still early. I'm a little worried on my way here, thinking that people would start gossiping about me. 

After a couple of hours, it was time to head for my class. As I was preparing to leave, I can't help but to feel nervous. Earlier, while I was doing my homework, some students went inside the library. But as soon as they saw me, they started whispering to each other and gave me the 'look' for the rest of their stay. 

As soon as I left the library, I got many dirty stares. And get this, I'm just at the front door. This is surprisingly early, mentioning that the school hours is yet to come. I took a deep breath and keep reminding myself to not mind those 'looks' because it will only stress me out. 

A breath of relief escaped upon my lips when I got inside the building of my first class. I went straight to the bathroom to calm myself down. Athena, you did great honey. Now all you have to do is get inside to your classroom, listen to lectures and deal with the evil glares for the rest of the school hours.

I stared at my reflection one more time before walking out of the bathroom. I held my head up high, trying to fool myself that the people would be intimidated by my confidence.
