Chapter 1

Ashley's POV

I stood at my sister's balcony viewing the beautiful and serene environment; it was that perfect moment when the sun had disappeared and the lights in the house were all lit.

I Still couldn't believe Charlotte convinced Jacob into buying this house, the house was totally surrounded by trees, it looked scary and mesmerizing all at the same time, especially at night like there was some adventure out there drawing you in, the mountain tops were covered with the evening dew and from time to time you could catch the sight of a bat flying out or into the woods, birds chirping good night, it was all relaxing and new.

I inhaled the cold night air, It was so different from New York, the absence of that lingering smell of carbon and sulphur was hard to ignore, no sound of traffic and there was always fresh eggs from the farm at the back of the house. This place was "a little paradise" as Charlie loved to call it.

She had always wanted to have her wedding in an environment as serene as nature itself, and that childhood dream was about turning a reality.

"Am ready" I heard her say, snapping out of my trance, I took a deep breath, and exhaled
"Ashley!! " she called a bit louder in a singsong, I pushed open the glass door and walked in.

There she stood in all her beauty, her blonde hair up in a messy bun, rain drop shaped diamond earrings, her beautiful white gown, with transparent lace kissing her skin from neck to wrist, the detailing on the gown ran from the mounds of her breast to her waist and down her  lower back, the lightning of the room suited the moment, adding more drama and sensation, she looked so radiant that I couldn't help but remember our first high school prom.

Charlie was the queen bee of our school back then, she had the perfect look, the perfect hair, wore the perfect clothes, dated the perfect boys, we graduated high school together, went to UCLA together, mom ensured we were roommates, graduated together, She got the perfect job as a model a big shot one while I went down with the blue bloods

I couldn't remember what life without Charlotte was like, our differences were so obvious both physically and otherwise.
Charlie and I had been practically inseparable ever since I got adopted into their family, we were those best friends that eventually became sisters.
After I lost my parents, not my favorite topic, she made sure her mom took me in and took up all responsibilities of mine including schooling, Charlie was my everything, I even called her my savior sometimes.

Now, she was also getting married to the perfect man.
A billionaire heir, Jacob Kinkle, not my favorite topic either. So here we were testing her wedding dress for third time since we bought it from an overpriced celebrity wedding dress retailer.

"So, what do you think? " she asked again,  flashing that killer smile of hers, I cleared my throat, trying to find my voice

"Wow, Jacob is one hell of a lucky man sis" she always looked amazing no matter how many times she tries on the gown, like it was meant for her, she smiled again

"I know right?, I mean seriously who can pull of a wedding dress like this? " she asked admiring herself in the full length mirror before her. Well that was Charlie for you, she knew her worth but always did a good job at over emphasizing and showing off, to most people she comes off as proud and with serious attitude problems, but I totally understood and loved her where she was

" I can't wait for tomorrow Ash,can you imagine it, me, walking down the aisle as the wedding anthem comes on, and Jacob standing right there smiling down at me.. "
"I totally get it Charlie, me neither" I said cutting her off, we've been over that so many times that it was beginning to sound like a record
"Well you better get out of that dress before you stain it or something " I added,
"Yeah, can you help with my zipper? " "Of course" she said turning her back to me.
I couldn't help but admire the dress once more and wished I was the one in this position, getting married to...... Never mind, we don't always get what we want, I thought to myself, the irony made me smile, a sad, sad smile. As I pulled her zipper down, I felt the material of the gown, savoring the feel of it beneath my palm, the little bumps of designs and the smooth edges
