Chapter XLIX

"Give us time to think. You have changed your conditions and it's only reasonable for us to demand more time before we come up with a decision." Emmy said.

"How can we be sure that you will not run away?" I asked.

Hindi nagsalita si Emmy kung kaya kusang tumaas ang aking kilay. I knew it. All that this woman is thinking is how to get out of this situation because it doesn't favor her.

"I want a decision now." I firmly said.

I was a fool thinking that separating with Zack will make things better for me and my children but I was wrong. Filing an annulment will only make things easier for Emmy and I will not let that happen. She doesn't deserve to be happy.

"Before the signing of the terms and condition, I will clarify all the conditions set by Mrs. Paige Iris Pascual. In order to settle the case of Ms. Emilia Magsino, she and Mr. Zack Andrew Pascual will comply to the following conditions:

1. Mr. Zack Andrew Pascual will cut every ties he have with Ms. Emilia Magsino. Not included in this clause is his parental duties to the child being bore by the defendant;

2. He will also live with Mrs. Paige Iris Pascual, fulfill his matrimonial duties to her and his parental obligations to their children;

3. He is also not allowed to meet with Ms. Emilia Magsino for reason other than his parental obligations to their child, in case that he will be meeting for the said reason, he must be accompanied by any member of his family;

4. If Mr. Zack Andrew Pascual and Ms. Emilia Magsino will hereby break any of these conditions, Ms. Emilia Magsino will be sue for kidnapping Mr. Zack Andrew Pascual, bigamy, serious physical injury and criminal threats against my client and breach of contract. Zack Andrew Pascual will also face several amount of cases including adultery and breach of contract."

Tumango ako sa narinig sa aking abogado. Narinig ko pang sumang-ayon ang tatay ni Zack sa lahat ng kondisyon na nakalahad sa aming kontrata upang iatras ang kaso laban kay Emmy.

"What now, Zack? Are you going to sign the papers or not?" I asked.

Galit na galit si Emmy habang nakatingin sa akin. Ang kanyang luha at tumutulo na sag alit. Nanginginig ang kanyang labi at tila maaari ako nitong sugudin ano mang oras ngayon.

"We will sign the papers." anito habang mahigpit na nakahawak sa kamay ni Emmy.

Ngumiti ako sa naging sagot ni Zack. Nauna akong pumirma, pagkatapos ay si Zack at si Emmy. Nagpapirma din para sa mga witness ng naganap ngayong araw na ito at para sa nakapaloob sa kontrata. Binigyan kami ng tig-iisang kopya.

"Everything that has happened means that you will be going home alone tonight, Emmy." I crossed my arms in front of her.

"I have to make sure that she will be home safely." ani Zack.

"Do not forget that I am carrying his child." matigas na sabi ni Emmy.

Ngumiti ako sa kanilang dalawa.

"Oh, don't worry. I haven't forgot about that. Clinton will help Zack to make sure that you will not do anything behind my back." I said. Lumingon ako kay Clinton at tumango ito sa akin. "Take good care, Emmy. Don't worry, I will take good care of my husband so you don't have to worry. I make sure that he will be happy with his stay here." I smirked at her.

"Bitch." she said angrily.

"Oh, Emmy. This is not my bitchy side yet." I let out a small laugh to even piss her. "Don't forget that you are the mistress here, not me. You can't be even be compared to a bitch. You are way more than that." I said.

"Stop it." galit na sabi ni Zack dahil sa pang-iinsulto ko sa kanyang kabit.

"Then get her out of sight now." I commanded.

Kusa akong tinalikudan ni Emmy. Sinundan siya ni Zack at sumunod na din sa kanila si Clinton. Tahimik akong naupo sa aming sala at ilang saglit pa akong natulala. Isa-isang nagpaalam ang pamilya ni Zack at ang aking pamilya. Ang tanging naiwan lang sa bahay ay si Alexa at ang anak nitong si Ex.

Si Kuya Mark ay sasama muna kina Mommy at Daddy upang tumulong sa ginagawa naming bahay. Naiwan si Alexa dahil pansamantala nila kaming sasamahan ni Clinton dito sa bahay.

Alas otso na gabi nang umuwi sina Clinton at Zack. Nagliligpit na kami ng hapag kainan nang abutan nila kami. Ipinaghain ko ang dalawa at tumulong sa akin si Alexa. Ang mga bata ay nasa taas na at natutulog na.

Tinapik ni Clinton ang balikat ni Zack at pareho silang naupo sa hapag. Umupo si Alexa sa table kaharap ang kanyang asawa.

"Where's Alexander?" tanong ni Clinton kay Alexa.

"Already asleep." ani Alexa na abala sa pagkain ng cupcakes na ginawa ko bilang kanyang desert. Tumingin si Alexa kay Zack. "You might want to taste the cupcakes, you use to love it."

"No, thanks. I'm still full." kunot noong ani Zack. Tumingin ito sa akin. "Can I visit the twins?"

Tumango ako. Tumayo siya nang makitang naglalakad na ako paalis. Tahimik siyang sumunod sa akin. Umakyat kami sa ikalawang palapag ng bahay at pumasok sa dati naming kwarto kung saan natutulog ang kambal.

Lumapit ako sa kambal ngunit nanatili lamang akong nakatayo sa harapan ng kama. Tumabi sa aking gilid si Zack at pinagmasdan ang kambal.

"Can you tell me things about them?" he whispered.

"On the left side is Joseph Andrew Pascual and on the right side is Benjamin Zack Pascual. They are three years old, born April 6, 2015. Joseph's nickname is Otep and Benjamin is often called Benj. The nicknames came from them because they find it hard to pronounce each other's name when they were younger. Joseph like books with pictures and Benjamin likes cars and planes."

Tumingin ako kay Zack. Malungkot ang tingin niya habang nakatitig sa kambal. Hinawakan niya ang kamay ni Benjamin na ayaw sumama sa kanya kanina. Umupo siya sa gilid ng kama at hinalikan ang noo ng dalawang bata.

"Tell me more." mahina nitong sabi na tila takot na magising ang kambal.

"Their first word was 'cakes'. They call you father 'Paps' and they call my father 'Dads'. They call Kuya Mark 'Papa', Kuya likes it so I didn't argue. They call Antony 'Dada' because they thought he was their father."

Tumingin sa akin si Zack.

"You never told them about me?" he asked.

"I did. I showed them your pictures. At first they were curious but as time passed by, they become uninterested." I said honestly.

"Were they looking for me?" he asked, sadly.

"Every day, Zack. It only stopped when Antony came into the picture and fulfill your role as their father."

"I hate myself." he said angrily.
