C??r??e?

My brother is not a patient man. He never has been, and probably never will be. When he's upset, he makes sure the world knows it. So everyone always knew when he was coming.

I learned to be the opposite. I learned how to walk just out of view, how to hang back and observe. And so, nobody ever noticed me. That's how I was able to get in unnoticed.

I know what Will's going to do. I've known him for so long that it's more of a certainty than a guess. He'll go to the basement first. So I go to the third floor.

Sitting in my old room, I spend a second to wonder why things turned out the way they did. But only a second. I don't like to dwell in the past too much.

My room isn't my room anymore. The wallpaper and the carpet have been changed several times, and most of my old furniture has been replaced. I examine the lamp that somebody installed on the bedside table. I turn the knob and it shuts off.

I hear a door slam. It looks like my older brother, the smarter one, is here. I don't know for sure what Henry wants, but I can guess. I know for sure what I want. First, I'm going to turn off all the lights. Then, I'm going to kill Will.
