Fangs pov

I shot both my hands into the air, yawning. It was probably too early but I had to go somewhere special.

"Meiying! Wake up!" I shouted out to the room next to mine,
A mix of purple and blue.

"We have to go see mom."
I pulled her out of bed, making her groan.

"Dad its too early!" Mei complained.

"Fine. 5 more minutes."

What are you doing? Don't let her be that like that! How will she be if she grows up?

I could hear Ying's voice in my head.

You know that I want her to grow up well, Fang.

I sighed.

"Meiying get up." I lifted her foot up in the air.

"Okay dad." She sat on her bed, then folded her blanket.

"Good girl." I smiled. "Mom would be sooo proud of you. So lets go visit her."

We both rode on the car, and I noticed the messy hair of my daughter. "Cupcake." I caught her attention, pointing at her
Raven-dyed hair. It was just like mine.

"Oh." She grabbed a ponytail and neatly arranged it into a braid.
I gave her a pat on the head.

Next stop, the flower shop.

***

What are these flowers for?
They're ephemeral. They would wilt at the end of the day.

I chuckled at the thought of her voice, telling me that it was a waste of effort to bring her these.

Even so, it was the only thing I could give her right now.

"Would mommy like those?"
She pointed at a lovely bouquet of sunflowers and hydrangea.

"Oh she'd love them." I replied,
Proud of how my child has grown.

Our child.

yes, our child.

"Those flowers please."
Meiying told the shopowner,
Making the old lady smile at her cute figure.

Once the owner gave the kid what she wanted, she skipped back into the car and exclaimed,
"To mommy!!!"

I drove for about ten minutes, before we finally arrived.

The two of us got off the car and Meiying ran around happily.

Honey, your home is wonderful.
It was spring, the flowers were blossoming in your garden, and I could sense all the peacefulness and the positive energy.

"Over there Dad!!" Mei called out.

I walked up to your tombstone and laid the flowers on your grave, a painful smile painted on my face.

"Happy anniversary, Ying."

Its been a long time. How have you been up there?

I let out a sigh of regret.
Maybe... you'd be here if I was able to protect you.

Meiying tugged on my shirt and smiled. "Mom is smiling down on us." She said, innocence filling her eyes.

"Yes. Yes she is."

I looked at my daughter.
Meiying. A name which meant
'Beautiful flower.'

You made an excellent choice in picking out her name, Ying.
She really is a beautiful flower.

--She's just like you..
