The time Amaryllis had chosen was right after school, at this small local cafe. She was really intent of dressing casual, which didn't bother Toya one bit, but she was running rather late. This left Toya sitting rather awkwardly alone at a table outside. As time passed, he couldn't help but grow a bit nervous.

However, it wasn't terribly long before Amaryllis rounded a corner and made her way over to him. She had a sweet smile across her lips, but something was different. She had a bandage around her nose and there were parts of her face that looked a bit discolored, especially her left eye. It was worse than what she normally seemed to acquire.

"What the hell happened to you?" Toya said as Amaryllis sat herself down, he had a bit of a playful tone.

She took a moment to answer. "I got punched in the face," she said rather bluntly. "I ended up with a broken nose and a black eye, hence the strange color. I did a rather poor job of trying to cover it up with makeup." She chuckled. "It hurt like a bitch." She said the last bit under her breath.

"Did you learn anything useful though?" Toya saw this a good conversation starter.

"Yeah," she said with a small sigh. "We learned his name, the villain. He apparently calls himself Red Mask."

"Red Mask," Toya mumbled under his breath, the name stuck to his tongue. It wasn't soon after that the waitress came by and took their drink orders, after she left Amaryllis made another snarky remark.

"I hope you intend to pay," she said with a sly tone, "because I forgot my wallet I was in such a hurry." Her words flowed in a joking manner. Toya found himself smiling, which quickly changed once her words processed through his brain.

"That's a cold move," he coed with a light smile. Amaryllis seemed to relax in her seat, before she decided to change the subject once again.

They talked aimlessly for what seemed like hours, just a bunch of random things that seemed to just cross their minds at random. Toya learned some interesting things about Amaryllis. One was that her parents divorced when she was young, and while her mother moved to America she stayed with her father wanting to go the U. A. Another was that her father worked quite often, and the way she said this was rather suggestive. Probably Toya's favorite random fact about Amaryllis was that she could apparently solve a rubix cube in under a minute.

"Really?" Toya couldn't help but laugh at this. "How do you figure out something like that?"

"I can't sit still for very long, and when I was younger my trainer liked to give them to me. He said something like it builds up the brain or something, and I just ended up getting good at it." There was a cockiness in her voice. "I guess I'll have to find one for you," Toya's tone was playful yet challenging.

Toya was a bit sneaky and took out his phone to check in the time. It had been about and hour and a half, but it was about time to pick up his brother.

"I'm sorry," he said, stashing his phone back away. "But I have to go pick up my younger brother from school."

"Alright," Amaryllis said, there was a very slight hint of disappointment in her voice, but a thought did strike Toya.

"You could come with me, if you wanted to." This was another time Toya spoke before he thought through things, but it wasn't a very bad idea in general.

"I wouldn't want to intervene." Toya just gave her a look, that if she wanted to come she chould. Amaryllis thought for a moment, "Which way are you going?" Toya gestured to a street down the road. She thought some more, "Well if you don't mind...."

They paid for their food and they were off. They walked together in silence for a little ways till Amaryllis spoke. "I enjoyed our meal," she said, Toya could feel her red eyed burning into his skull, he gazed over and met her bright orbs.

"Good, as did I," be flashed her a quick smile, but Amaryllis's mind seemed else where. She had dropped her gaze and seemed to be staring at the ground, but Toya was sure that wasn't what she was looking at.

"Can I...?" She reached her hand forward towards Toya, "hold your hand?" She said it like she was a child asking for something she didn't know if she could really have. Without really thinking, Toya reached for her hand and gripped it tightly, he even pulled her a bit closer to him. Amaryllis had tensed up at first but soon relaxed. Her cool hand felt nice against Toya's warm one.

It wasn't too long before the reached the school, which made Toya a bit upset seeing how he didn't want to let go of Amaryllis's hand just yet. Alas, when they sat down to wait for his brother she released his hand.

Shoto came strolling out of the school, he took his time getting over to them. His eye was plastered on Amaryllis the whole time.

"Hey, how was your day?" Toya asked as Shoto approached, he held out his hand for his little brother who took it almost instantly.

"Good." He said, Shoto was keeping an eye on Amaryllis, who moved rather cautiously around to Toya's other side. "How was yours?" Shoto asked his brother, removing his gaze from the silver haired girl.

"It was nice," Toya's tone was a lot smoother with Shoto, it was like he was talking to glass, being weary to not break it. "Shoto, this is my friend, Amaryllis," he motioned over to her and she gave a smile and a small wave.

Shoto studied Amaryllis for a brief moment. "Hello," he finally said, "nice to meet you." Amaryllis's awkward smile changed to a warm one, "It's nice to meet you, too."

They carried on with the normal after-school conversation. Toya asked him how his eye was doing and if he had learned anything interesting. The usual things. Amaryllis even chimed in a few times.

"It seems I must take my leave," Amaryllis pipped up, her voice had a dramatic ring. She had stopped at a cross road and Toya turned to face her.

"I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Maybe, maybe not," Amaryllis gave Toya one last cocky smile.

"Bye, Shoto-kun. It was nice to meet you." She said, she then turned her attention back to Toya. "Bye," was all she said before she went on her way.

Toya and Shoto walked a little ways in silence before Shoto broke the silence. "I like her," he said.

"Really?" Toya gave him a sideways look.

"Is she your girlfriend?" He was very upfront. Toya was a bit surprised. "Maybe, maybe not," he couldn't help but enjoy toying with his little brother. Shoto gave a huff of annoyance. "That's a shame."

"Yeah," Toya was talking to himself by now, "it kind of is."
