The guilt over Carol Danvers results in a psychotic break sending Rogue spiraling, weeks later she ends up wandering around Gambit's city with sporadically uncontrollable personalities, hemorrhaging memories and investigating she's not even sure what. Assassins' guild members are vanishing and it all comes back to her, after tracking her halfway across the country he finally catches up to her, unfortunately when he lays eyes on her they're both regaining consciousness, he doesn't remember what he was trying to lay eyes on her for in the first place and he swears there was something standing right behind her.
A LITTLE EXTRA : I'm finally on my Halloween setting and Haunting of Hill House got me on it, so they're trapped in a haunted house, it gets dark -- the ghosts in Rogue's mind and the house are fucking up her shit and neither of them know if she killed those Assassins' guild members or this house did or some combo platter-- but this fic is not limited to the horror story feel free to expand past it
