Kate's POV

The past few nights were terrible, I would wake up every two hours or so. Because it was painful to sleep sitting up and also the nurses came in frequently to check in on Marley.

••••••••

One night I had been sleeping, and I woke up to the sound of beeping. Marley's heart monitor line was flat, the nurses raced in and shooed Taylor and I out. I felt like I was on the set of a hospital reality show. But I wasn't, they used a diphibulator on her. She was finally okay, but they moved her into a more intensive care room. The room was smaller and there was only room for one chair, Taylor slept on the floor while I slept in the chair.

••••••••••••••

Each day was the same, we would talk to her, eat the disgusting hospital food and then sleep.

"Kate, do you think she'll be okay?" Taylor asked me one day,

"I honestly don't know," I said, it was the truth. There wasn't a single day that went by where I wasn't afraid she would die. The doctors had told us to be prepared for the worst, because we could wake up and she could be gone.
