drowning sorrows

too much,
she had done too much;

thoughts plaguing her mind,
convincing her she was no more
than a burden

she had gotten heavier
and heavier,
and heavier
glued to the ground with
no strength of prevail

fell through the cracks of one's mind
to find oneself in the murky waters
of their own despair

she sunk like a damaged boat;
plundering down, she gasped

held on because she didn't want
to be weighed down by her thoughts
that conquered her

putting up a strong fight, she let go,
weakening as water invaded her body
hungrily;

it filled her up like a saggy tire
til it numbed her to the bone
