A knock at the door
Some men in uniform
'Where are your papers?'
Asks the tallest of three
As tall as yet more frightening than a tree

'I asked you a question!'
He raises his weapon
I freeze, scared
'Present your document!'
He says without sentiment
I shake my head no

One for his gun
One for the door
