Humming Enteral Flame by The Bangles I limp along side Kyle, leaning on one crutch. “Are you ever going to tell me what happened to you?” He groans as he shifts my books he is carrying in his arms.

“Probably not” I smirk before picking up where I left off on my song,

“I pushed you over the edge didn’t I; you tried to kill yourself after what I said.” He says dramatically with a hint of amusement in his hazel eyes,

“Yep you got me, I totally tried to kill myself…by hurting my ankle…” I say in a sarcastic tone, “I’m not THAT stupid.” I add, still smiling nothing seems to bring me down these days.

“Hey, just because you’re in law school doesn’t make you a genius.” He says with a serious face, I stop and stare at him as he tries to fight a smile.

“I’m letting that one slide but only because I’m in such a good mood!” I practically sing as I attempt to skip forward, “but I told you I fell off a treadmill.” I add over my shoulder,

“Okay that explains the ankle but what’s up with this new attitude? I swear I have never seen you this happy.” He asks jogging to catch up with me, a hint of jealousy in his eyes.

                “What does it matter?”

“I don’t know, just…are you like… in love?” he stammers, his cheeks a little flushed.

I stop in my tracks and think about that, I’ve been talking to Randy every day since that night we spent together and I get butterflies just thinking about him. I find myself smiling for no reason at all then I realize I thought about him, I’ve never really been in love before but whatever it is I’m feeling for him is something just… magical! “Yeah…” I sigh with a grin, something flashes in Kyle’s eyes and I tilt my head sideways. “What was that?”

“What?” He asks, raking his fingers through his tousled hair brushing it out of his eyes.

“That looks you just got in your eyes?” His cheeks flush pink as he quickly looks away,

“Nothing. So who is the lucky guy?” he mumbles avoiding eye contact, I eye him for a moment as he acts suspicious.

“Well he doesn’t know yet so…” His eyes meet mine quickly at those words,

“Really, is he a friend of yours?” he asks almost as though his life depends on it,

“Yes…” I trail off starting to feel weird, Kyle stares at me blankly lost in his thoughts. “Kyle…?” I ask, as his grip tightens on my hand he grabbed. “Ky, woohoo you still there?” I choke out feeling increasingly uncomfortable,

“Huh? Oh yeah…sorry about that. So what is this guy like?” He asks gesturing for us to keep moving, feeling at ease I open up.

“He is really funny like surprisingly because from a distance he looks like a very serious guy, he is completely hot but just not hot but like a handsome stunning kind of hot, his eyes oh my gosh they are so welcoming! Every time he is around my heart speeds up and I just want to squeal with excitement and pull him into a giant hug. I just want to be with him always, I’ve watched him with other people and it’s weird with me he is different than with all of them. He is just…perfect. Not like unbelievable perfect but like my kind of perfect it’s like he can read my mind, Kyle. Everything I have ever wanted in a guy he is!” I exclaim in a more girly than usual way, “Well…almost.” I add, quickly remembering the whole wife and daughter thing.
