She still held onto Alfie though, even though he was done crying, he needed someone there for him. She would be that someone.
"How you doing, sis?" Jay asked as he inspected his now mangled looking pipe.
"I'm okay. Glad I wasn't out here." Izzy replied quickly.
"Yeah... I guess that's a way of looking at it." Jay replied slowly.
"Are you okay?" She asked, sitting down next to him.
"I don't think I ever will be again." Jay replied, smirking a little.
"Don't joke about that." Izzy warned him.
"I'm not joking, I don't think I will be." Jay said, suddenly serious.
Izzy didn't reply, just sat next to her brother, being a comforting presence for him.
"We gotta work on getting these bodies away, people." Dolton suddenly piped up. "Come on everyone, we're about halfway done now" he encouraged everyone.
Dolton got back to the bodies, grabbing another by the feet, Mark gripping its wrists and pulling it up, dragging it to the fire pile to be burnt later that night.
"Fuck it, come on, mate. Might as well get back on it." Malik said, his voice sounding defeated, clearly heavily bothered by the loss of Jamie.
Everyone was really. Everyone that knew him anyway, it just created a large gap that couldn't be filled by anyone or anything else, and it haunted everyone that knew him in that moment.

Alex/unknown time
—————
Alex stood outside the cathedral, wincing and gasping as he wrapped his stump tight in his T-shirt, stopping the flow of blood. He probably wouldn't die but it was most definitely good to be sure.
He stripped down, he'd seen what these freaks had done to the last person dressed in brute armour and he most certainly did not want to suffer the same fate. After he stripped completely, feeling rather exposed with his newfound state of just underwear, he walked around the back and chucked his armour in one of the bins, not wanting it to be found.
Making his way back around the front, the animalistic cries and shouts still audible from inside the building, he took a deep breath and went to open the doors.
"Fuckin please don't let me die." He prayed to God, not liking to admit to himself that he was doing so.
He leant into the door and shoved it open, falling through on purpose, trying to make himself look weak. This gained the attention of the raving looney that had been completely painted blue that was leading the crowd of other raving looneys.
"Who goes there?!" The blue man asked.
"I ain't no one but a poor lad mate, starving and injured!" Alex shouted, making a show of gripping his stump.
The blue man jumped down off his pedestal, looking almost spider like as he did so, his limbs stretching out in all different directions.
"What's your name?" The blue man asked, approaching him.
Fuck it. Take a chance.
"Korak." Alex said confidently, remembering the name they had all been chanting earlier.
Looks like it worked. The crowd audibly gasped and the blue man stepped back, falling onto his knees and looking at him with almost a childlike wonder glistening in his eyes.
"The Messiah." He whispered.
"The Messiah." The rest of the crowd murmured, falling to their knees.
"It is you." You blue man said. "Here, let me show you something!" He exclaimed, standing up and gesturing Alex forwards.
The blue man walked up the aisle with Alex, making sure to remain close to him but not close enough to touch apparently. The crowd parted as they walked up, Bowing as the two of them walked through them.
"Look." The blue man said, pointing at paper on the floor.
Alex walked up behind him, causing the blue man to flutter and move out of the way. Alex looked at the paper, shock growing on him once he looked at what was on the paper.
It was a picture, crudely drawn but clear what it was. It was a boy, slender build with straight black hair, missing a hand and stark naked, apart from a red scribble that had been drawn around his crotch. Almost an exact replica of Alex.
Oh you're fucking joking. Alex thought, smiling on the inside.
