Chapter 6

"Are you excited for school Court?"
"No."
"Is something wrong babe? You've hardly said a word."
"It's just, I don't know why Ari would've left with out telling me, we always go together."
"Oh." He gets really quiet."
"Not that I don't love riding with you." I quickly add, I don't think I should hurt my boyfriends feelings.
"I know."
He smiles, but I can tell it's forced.
"Cam, is something wrong?"
"I've been meaning to tell you, I got a role in a movie."
"Oh Cam, that's great!"
"Yeah, but I'll have to move to California."
"What?"
"Yeah, I found out this morning."
"Oh, well I'm very happy for you."
"Thanks, but I don't think I'm going."
"What? Cam, this is a great opportunity you're going to regret not taking advantage of for the rest of your life."
"But, my family's here, you're here, my friends are here. But mostly, you're here."
"Cam. I would feel terrible if you stayed for me. I really want you to take this opportunity, I'll visit you. I promise."
"I'll think about."
"You better."
"And hey, thanks for being supportive." Was someone not supportive? "My dad doesn't want me to go, he says he'll disown me. This isn't my destiny."
"That's horrible."
"Yeah, well here we are."
"Thanks for the ride babe."
"No problem. You need a ride home?"
"No. I'm gonna walk. I need the exercise. Thanks though. Bye."
"Bye."
Wow I can't believe he's leaving.

The school day went by in a blur. I saw Aria at lunch. I walked over to her to talk to her, and she said nothing she just thought best friends shouldn't keep secrets from each other.
"What on Earth are you talking about?"
"You know." She grabbed a lunch tray.
"Honestly, I don't know what you talking about."
"Just forget it. Just pretend I never said anything, pretend we never had this conversation." She grabbed a turkey sandwich and a bag of Hot Cheetos and swiped her student lunch card.
"No you're going to tell me what's going on." I grabbed her arm as she tried to spin away. "What's going on Aria?"
"Look", she sighed "I know about you and Cameron. I know about you thinking I'm bossy, and I know you don't really want to be my friend anymore."
I crossed my arms," Ari, is that what you think? I don't want to be your friend anymore?" I knew she was a dramatic, but this? This is just not her. "Yeah I'm dating Cam, but I didn't think you would really care, you would probably think that was gross. And who said I thought you were bossy?"
"Like I said, just forget it."
"Come on."
"Ok fine I forgive you, let's go eat." She forgives quickly. Yup that's the Aria I know.
"So who's this Lexi chick?"
