13. a boring school day?

Stevens pov:

I wake up from the sunshine trough my curtains. I check my phone.

My alarm was supposed to go off over five minutes. Great.

I get up. I take some new clothes and walk to the bathroom.

I turn on the shower and get in.
After twenty minutes I'm done. I put on my clean clothes and go to the kitchen.

I eat and brush my teeth. I sit down on the couch.

Shadow sits infront of me. My mom is still asleep.

"I hope Duff isn't mad at me." I say to Shadow. I haven't seen Duff for a week.

"What do I do if he's mad at me?" I say and put my head in my hands.

"I want to be friends with him." I say.

'or do I want to be more?' I think.

I sigh and look at the clock.

I need to go in five minutes.

I give Shadow food and water and get my bag.

I close my front door.

I take a deep breath and cross the street.

I knock on his front door.

"Hey." I say.

"Hey." He says.

We start walking.

"What did Axl and Izzy think of Los Angeles?" I ask to start a conversation.

"They found it nice." Duff says.

"Good." I say.

Why is it so awkward?
What do I do to make it less awkward.

We arrive at school. We didn't really talk. Only some small talk.

"We have history before Pines right?" Duff asks.

"Yeah." I say.

I see Slash walking towards us.

He hung out with Duff, Axl and Izzy on the beach last week.

"Hey." Duff says and smiles at him.

I just stand there. Why does he smile to Slash and not to me?

What if he doesn't like me anymore?

Why does this make me jealous?

Why do I want him to like me?

"Hey! Adler!" Slash says.

"Huh? What?" I say.

"I asked if you want to hang out at the beach." Slash says.

"Oh, yeah sure." I say.

"You wanna come too Duff?" Slash asks.

"I can't." Duff says.

"Why?" Slash asks.

"My mom expects a package and someone needs to sign it. But she has to work." Duff says.

"Ah. That sucks." Slash says.

Duff nods.

The bell rings.

"Bye guys." Slash says.
