Try and catch me - Chapter 5

POV of Alfred

Only one attempt has been done to try and catch me in this game of tag. Only Robbie has tried to catch me. It also looks like Rhonwen is the most desperate one here. He's usually the one who's mad. I still don't believe that if anyone here is going to catch me, it's going to be him. Looks like he's onto me now.

Rhonwen: AHHH! Stop running!

I slow down for him. I wonder if he will stop shouting now.

Rhonwen: THAT'S STILL FAST!
Alfred: Maybe you're slow.
Rhonwen: Oh screw you!

I look like someone who lost focus of their surroundings. I'm only looking at Rhonwen, the others might think that I'm not paying attention. That prediction is usually wrong. The faster you are able to move, the faster your brain has to be to process what you're seeing. Having a faster brain can help you in anything that needs you to use the brain. To me, we always use our brain. With this, I hear footsteps in the back. I look back and check who it is.

It's Gino, he is the slowest in the group. Instead of running, he likes to hide. I'll tell you what, he's good at it. It's just that, with these physical abilities of mine, him touching me by hiding has a low chance of succeeding. After I see him, I run in another direction. The direction I run to is towards Rhonwen.

Gino: Oh, come on.
Rhonwen: Wait! Hey! Hey! Stop!

I feel the need to laugh after Rhonwen panicking. I thought he wanted to tag me so badly. I'm already running at him and making it easier for him.

Kyle: OMG RHONWEN! TAG HIM!

In about one second, I will reach him. I wonder if he'll tag me or if he'll still be scared. Kyle is already telling him to tag me. I still feel like laughing too. Rhonwen reaches out with both arms.

Rhonwen: I swear don't-!

I jump over him and out of his reach. He is the shortest in the group, but I can still jump over everyone.

Rhonwen: UGH! DAMMIT! STOP THAT!

The rest look like they are planning to catch me after I jump. It's harder for me to move while in midair. I think that's what they're trying to do, because as I'm falling right now, I can see Kyle running at me.

I can drag myself down faster while in midair with my own strength. That's what I do to not get caught.

Kyle *thinking*: Come on come on come on.

Kyle: I have you!-...

This group hasn't chased me in ages. I easily jumped over him. I've also gotten faster, at least some of them have to notice that. They might even get more shocked when they find out that Lightning Blitz recruited me. Fighting out there will make me way stronger.

Kyle: AHHH! ALFRED!

I finally start to see some more effort... I see them running at me in groups. The thing is, I'm way faster than all of them. I have an example, if you have 10 people whose combined power is 2 times more than yours. That doesn't mean they'll win. Their power is split into 10 different people, while the lone one is on average, 5 times stronger than each one of the 10. Which means that the lone one can take them out one at a time and still win.

Who I see running at me at the same time are Kraig and Wacky. As far as I know, there is no way that they can surround me if they're just two. It's easy for me to just run the other way. That's what I do, since I'm not wasting any time.

Now that I'm running this way... I see another group. This time, they are three. I see Gio, Chloe, and Aaron over there. It looks like they're staying in every direction. Even though it's simple enough for me to jump over them.

I'm now starting to wonder where Stephen is. He could be anywhere around here. I don't see anyone close to me yet, so I guess I'm fine. I just have to look where he might come from.

I decide to run over to the edge of the gym. Yes, I want to see how they surround me. Apparently, I see Stephen hiding behind one of the benches there. Looks like his plan won't work anymore.

I arrive at the edge and stop running. They surround me as expected. All 10 of them.

Rhonwen: What will you do now?!
Robbie: Touch him already!
Stephen: You're wasting time!

I'm only about 5 meters away from them. Which means that they only have to move 5 meters now to catch me. And of course, Rhonwen tries to do it first. He extends his arms in attempt to tag me. I quickly move to the side.

Kyle: Come on Rhonwen! He's already close!
Rhonwen: Shut up! I'm trying!

I start to see the sweat on his face. He looks so stressed trying to tag me. He's trying with everything he has. He now jumps at me. I simply move to the side again to avoid him. He lands a bit roughly.

Stephen: I'm going in. Screw this.
Kraig: Wait, hey! Me too.

They're taking up space and it's now harder for them to move. They really want to see if they can catch someone with powers. At the same time, they're making it hard for themselves.

Kraig tries to grab me while Stephen is literally throwing kicks and punches to tag me. Seriously though, you're trying to kick and punch someone who's probably over 10 times faster than you. It's not going to be that simple.

Gio: Ugh, can we all just go and get him?
Rhonwen: GIO!!!
Gio: Wha- *looks up*

They were taking so long, so I jumped over all of them. It was the easiest to jump over Gio, since there was no one behind him, but it doesn't really matter. He could've easily touched me, but he wasn't looking hehe.

Rhonwen: WHY GIO?!
Gio: I DIDN'T SEE HIM, OK?!
Rhonwen: NOW LOOK! HE'S FAR AGAIN!
Chloe: Uh guys, you do know that so much people in the gym are watching us, right?
Aaron: Yeah guys, uhhh.
Gio: Oh s**t.

They just tried to catch a superhuman. My moves and fast speed caught the attention of most people sitting on the floor of the gym. Well, maybe because I'm also a famous fighter in the school. Anyway, nice try trying to catch me guys. I fly back to them.

Alfred: Does anyone still want to catch me?
Rhonwen: I do!!! 😠
Alfred: Ok.

Rhonwen runs at me, then I make him float with my magic. This is surely going to piss him off. Well, he usually rages a lot when he loses. Like right now, he loses again.

Rhonwen: HEY! PUT ME DOWN! 😡

POV to someone watching me from a distance
BASP: I never saw him do stuff that impressive, interesting. The power I sense in him has also increased.
