Chapter 1 ~A new beginning

"Yasmeen you know how we feel about you dropping out of college".My dad said as he looked at me seriously . I felt bad about dropping out and I know that my parents wanted me to be a doctor..but that's just not my style.Im tired of being told what to do I'm 20 years old but my parents still treat me like I'm 7.

I gathered enough courage to speak up."look dad I'm sorry" I said looking down."SORRY!" My dad yelled,"YASMEEN SORRY IS NOT ENOUGH!"I was surprised he yelled so loudly I have never seen my father like this.

"Sweetie calm down".My mother said as she stroked my dad's back.I couldn't believe what was going on.My dad spoke up in a more softer tone.

"Look yas maybe...maybe you should go".My dad said as he looked at me.g-go? I thought naw this couldn't be real my own father wants me to leave.Just because college.I couldn't say anything at the momment."TIM"! My mother yelled "NOW YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR!, Y-you want our only child to leave"!She said furiously."Sarah she's 20 damn years old and this might be the best for her, if she wants to dropout college that's fine but that does not mean she ain't gonna find a job and get the hell out this house.He said as he slammed his hand on the table "I'm the man of this house and I run it and she is leaving whether she likes it or she doesn't case closed.My father said walking out.

At this point tears were streaming down my cheeks, it was like he didn't even care about me anymore."awe baby don't cry" my mom said hugging me, I could tell she was crying too."mama I j-just don't have anywhere to stay".I said sobbing, and I couldn't lie I really didn't I guess I took advantage of living with my parents for so long."Don't worry Yasmeen, your father already called your cousin lani.

Lani?out of all family members my parents called lani.Now you might be thinking why don't you want to live with your cousin? Well shits complicated me and lani never got along that well and I guess the thought of living with her surprised me.But I had no choice.

"Sweetie your going to leave early morning" my mom said smiling as if that shit was gonna cheer me up.i nodded I just couldn't say anything right now."go get some rest baby girl"my mom said kissing my cheek.

"okay goodnight mom" I said as I walked up the stairs I plopped on my bed.

"Just great" I said to myself as I got my phone.I put on some Jhene aiko, through all my hard moments in life her music kept me stronger.After what felt like hours I finally went to sleep.

Edit-i know this dumb as hell to put all the characters after the story but I'm so unorganized anyways...
