Ken Yukimura entered his family home after leaving work, "Kira!" He called out and soon enough, his daughter opened the door to show that she was there, "Get ready for dinner. And put on something nice."

Kira gave her father a confused looked as she looked down at her clothes and then back up at him, "Why would I need to wear something nice?" She asked confused.

Before Ken could answer Kira's question, the doorbell rang, "I invited a guest," He informed her, "For what I like to call the 'Thank You for Saving My Daughter from Becoming a Coyote Dinner' dinner." Ken walked over to the front door and opened it to reveal Veronica standing there. She had a smile on her face as she held her helmet in her hand.

"Hey, Kira!" Veronica waved to the girl as she greeted her.

"Oh, God," Kira muttered under her breath. She awkwardly smiled at Veronica before running to her room to get ready for the dinner.

Veronica couldn't help but quietly chuckle at Kira as she walked off. She wondered to herself, what did she want Kira to be exactly in her life? She seemed to be a great person to have in her life as a friend and she definitely needed more of those at the moment, but she also she seemed to a great person to be more that. She was an awkward kind of cute in Veronica's opinion, but still cute nonetheless.

Then, Veronica remembered, she already technically already had Scott and Lydia strung along. Scott, the boy who was clearly head over heels for her since the beginning and even though Veronica basically rejected him, there had also been a place in her heart that cared for him more than platonically. And then there was Lydia, the girl she clearly liked more than anything but knew it would be nothing more than a constant person to hook up with during school in Coach's office.

Veronica sighed when she remembered that Kira was human, a girl who knew nothing of what she was and the danger that could happen to her when associating herself with her. That when she realized, Kira could be nothing more than a friend.

"So, Veronica, I'm sure that as a native Californian, you've eaten at some pretty impressive Japanese sushi restaurants," Mrs. Yukimura told her and Veronica smiled as she nodded her head, "But I have to tell you that my husband is a superb chef."

Veronica turned her head to see Mr. Yukimura walking over with a plate filled with Sushi. Veronica couldn't help but smile, remembering all the time she and her mom used to go to restaurants of all kinds when she was younger, one of them including a Japanese restaurant.

"Okay, we have hamachi, uni, ikura, and hirame." Mr. Yukimura explained and Veronica nodded her head in response.

Mrs. Yukimura noticed the look Veronica was giving the food, "You've never eaten sushi before, have you?" She asked and Veronica quickly looked up at her.

"No, no, no. I have, actually. It's just..." Veronica trailed off as she took a quick glance at everyone at the table, "Last time I had this kind of food, it was when I was younger when my mom was still alive. She used to take to a different restaurant each Friday, our favorite was this Japanese one a couple blocks away from where we lived." She explained and Mrs. Yukimura nodded her head in understanding.

"Ah, I see." She replied to Veronica's story and Kira sighed as she looked over at Veronica, giving her an apologetic look.

"Oh, my God, guys," Kira groaned at her parents, "We were supposed to have lasagna tonight."

"I was trying to impress her. I didn't want to bring out the..." Mr. Yukimura trailed off as he went to get up,  "You know what? I'll make lasagna." He decided and Veronica held her hand out, trying to tell him to sit back down.
