18. Problem Solved

The doctor called for us and, I was more then relieved by what he told us! "So the surgery was a success," Jyrell asked with my hand in his? He'd been holding my hand since we found out who Ebony's doctor was, and it was nice to know he was a lil jealous.

"Yes, she's quite a trooper. That was a very close call, and a very painful injury. We were even worried she'd have a miscarriage from the loss of blood," I couldn't help but interrupt him. "Miscarriage," I asked? "Uh, yeah it says she's about four to five weeks," He reported making me recall that day she got light-headed. "You didn't know," he asked confused? "I don't think she knew," I replied surprised and even a little excited. "Well, the EMT notified us that she initially informed them about the pregnancy," he cleared up.

I turned to look at Jyrell who was just as shocked as me if not more so. I take it Nikko hadn't told him about the rendezvous Ebony and him had. Turning to look toward the door, I wonder if Nikko knew? Maybe that's why he came too? "Look, I have to go but just check at the Nurses Station to see which room she's in. And I'm Dr. Nathan Andrews if she needs anything," He smiled kindly. "Thank You, Doctor," I smiled back getting a tight squeeze on my hand from Jyrell. He waved and left us with that, walking back behind the surgery room doors. "I'm so glad," I hugged Jyrell. He was stiff though. "What's wrong," I asked? He just starred me down making me roll my eyes. "Jyrell get on with all that, I was not looking at that man," I waved him off.

"Is Nikko the father," he asked? My eyes widened, and I froze. "I don't know," I lied knowing he was the only man Ebonys had sex with since losing her virginity. "Kinzy, don't lie to me," he ordered. "Why don't you ask Nikko I don't want to give out Ebony's personal information," I whined! He nodded, "I'm going to tell my man wassup, you go check on Ebony," he said as if he was my daddy. "Okay Jy, okay," I said throwing my hands up in surrender.

"And well here I am," Kinzy giggled. "You said you've been waiting three hours for me to get up right," I asked? "Yep three long boring hours," she huffed. "Then where is Nikko," I asked? "Him and Jyrell stayed for about thirty minutes before Nikko claimed he had something to go do. Welcome to the life of being with a notorious "Pharmacist"," Kinzy teased. "We're not together, and probably never will be," I dropped my eyes to my belly, as I rubbed my fingers over my flat tummy. I could feel Kinzy's gaze on me, but only looked up when I heard a knock at the door.

"Wassup, pregnant ladies," Jyrell walked in with congratulate balloons, and roses. I looked at Kinzy and smiled, "Ladies? You dog, why didn't you tell me," I joke moving to push her, but flinching back. "Careful trooper, you just got out of surgery," Jyrell said gently pushing me back to the bed. "You didn't even ask you assumed, I might not be pregnant. Jyrell might be trying to get me pregnant,," Kinzy shrugged. "You definitely are, I can see the bump already," I teased noticing the glow all in her and Jyrell's face. " Bitch you're rude as hell," she joked plucking me. I laughed softly, afraid that I might hurt myself, but that went away when Nikko walked into the room looking handsome as hell.

For me, it felt like time slowed down as he walked in. He had on black jeans, and a black Trukfit graphic T-shirt, with a black and red leather snapback, and all red Reebok's. He looked young, and sexy with his jaw tight and his hat pulled low. What can I say, not seeing him for two weeks felt like forever. I couldn't help but wonder, how this is going to turn out. What was he thinking?

When Jyrell came outside with a scowl, I was annoyed. For the simple fact that him and Kinzy had just patched things up and were already fighting again, but I'd rather hear him complain than talk on the phone with my father. "Yeah pops, something just came up I'm going to talk to you later," I said hanging up. "What's up," I asked Jyrell? "The doctor finally came out to talk to us. She's fine," he shrugged. For some reason I felt like he had something else on his mind. "Good, so should we go handle business or what," I asked? "Yeah, after they make sure the baby is okay too. It's fucked up though, because I didn't even know Ebony was seeing anybody," Jyrell said blowing my mind. Baby?
