Kinzy
Joshua burst into laughter when i made the sound of an elephant with my arm stretched far in front my face, as i tried imitating an elephants trunk. "What's so funny, that's what an elephant sounds like. Come on do it with me," I giggled at his cute laugh. "No, you look silly mommy," he continued laughing. Just seeing him smile like that made me forget about all the bumps in the road and family drama. Jyrell has been gone more and with James missing I never really felt safe. No matter what, one thing I was sure of was Joshua. His happiness made me forget all about my own sadness. "Okay mister, well what does a lion sound like," I teased poking him in his chest. He stood up and put his arms up curving his finger into pretend claws and roared at me.
"Wow," I exclaimed while clutching my chest. "That was a really scary lion," I chuckled grabbing him and pulling him into my lap. "But one thing about the King of the Jungle is he just got captured," I spoke like an Australian hunter as i began tickling him. "Ahh, rawrrr," he tried wiggling away sounding more like a cub rather than a lion. "What's going on in here," Jyrell's voice boomed from behind us. I turned in shock and Joshua got up running to his father. "Daddy," Joshua shouted jumping into Jyrell's open arms. "What's up, man," Jyrell hugged him closely. "Mom and me are playing wildlife," Joshua laughed. "Mom's an elephant and i'm the lion," Joshua was cut off by Mama Janice whose voice reached us from the kitchen before she did.
"Jyrell, why is it that every time you come home you don't make no damn noise! What're you supposed to be the ghost whisperer or something," Mama Janice inquired while wiping her flour covered hands on a towel. "Jyrell looked his mother over and chuckled before responding. "I'm guessing grandma is the cheetah," Jyrell spoke in a non-quiet whisper to Joshua who went into another set of laughter. I looked at Mama Janice in her cheetah print shirt, and covered my mouth as I laughed quietly. "Oh, it jokes and laughs until that pound cake come out the oven," Mama Janice said shutting the two of them down as they began pleading their case. I shook my head, and was torn away from this amusement by my phone vibrating on the coffee table.
Surprised to see Ebony's name on the screen this time of night, I picked up and took my call into the bedroom. "Hey chick, what are you still doing up," I asked? From the moment she sighed I knew something was wrong. Somehow she had ended up at Nikko's, but didn't feel like she should stay there for some reason. I told her she could definitely stay at my place. The town home all of us were sharing at the time that is. "It's fine Ebony! You can share the bed with Mama Janice or Joshua, or if you want we can put Jyrell on the sofa and make this a girls room." "Not going to happen," Jyrell spoke walking past me to the closet. I jumped from him popping up on me. "Just tell me where you are, you don't need any worries with this baby. You need to be around love and help," I explained. As a matter of fact i went on for twenty mines convincing her to come over and stay for a few days. This girl was stubborn, but I'd never let her end up somewhere in a bad situation or where she felt uncomfortable.

Not even thirty minutes into my alcoholic sleep I was woken up by the sound of my business phone which I always kept the volume on. I started to not answer. I started to say fuck it but I rolled over and answered the incoming call from Jyrell. "Yo," I spoke roughly. "Well, look who I woke up. Have you talked to Ebony since you said what you said," He asked, making me run my hand down my face. "I don't have shit to say," I began, but he cut me off. "So, the nonchalant attitude must be why she called Kinzy to pick her up." My head tilted a little in shock.
