"We've got movement! Can you nod your head for me," I listened to the voice and realized it must be a doctor or EMT or something. I nodded. "Good! Good girl. Okay, now nod when you feel me touch your limbs," I nodded in agreement as he touched my legs, then my right arm, but I screamed in paint when they touched my left arm. "Okay, okay I'm sorry," the voice said putting something over my mouth. Your going to wake up and everything is going to be fine. " No, my baby," I cried putting my hand on my stomach only to have them pull my hand away. "You'll be fine ma'am. You're going to wake up and everything's going to be fine. Is there anyone you want us to contact for you? Someone in your phone perhaps?" she said, as I started going numb again. "My Love, she's my sister. My only family," I said heavily as my breathing got harder. "Ma'am your breathing to hard and losing too much blood," he said his voice sounding distant. "It hurts," I cried. Their voices got farther away before I drifted back into my daze.

The next time I woke up, I hadn't expected too. The bright light was killing me, and my throat seemed so dry. I knew I wasn't dead, not feeling like this I wasn't. I tuned towards the beeping machine and groaned. I felt like I wanted to throw up. "Well, look whose finally up," I heard a familiar voice. "Kinzy," I said trying to open my eyes more. "I swear you are like a magnet to trouble," she laughed and then sniffles. "I got shot," I mumbled. "Yeah, I know," she said, closer to me. I felt the uncomfortable bed lifting me up to a sitting position. "You were shot close between an artery and a muscle on your shoulder, and had a gash from a bullet on your side. You've been in surgery for five hours and have been asleep for three. And I also know, someone is expecting," She finished sitting on my bed.

I looked up in surprise. "I'm your sister remember! The only family you had left, they gave me the full four-one-one. What I'm wondering though, is why you didn't," she asked crossing her legs and laying across my lower half. "I wanted the guy who got me pregnant to be the first to know. I still don't know how to tell him either," I admitted. She looked down and played with my fingers. "Well, hun... Nikko kind of already knows," Kinzy mumbled making my mouth drop. "But, When, How...," I questioned? "Well...," Kinzy started.

I got to the hospital in record time, and stopped at the front desk, my heart beating out of my chest. "Ebony Fenty, what room," I asked? "Hold on let me check," the nurse said kindly, looking at me with sorrow. Oh, God please don't let her be dead. "Dear, she's in surgery. May I ask how you're related," she asked? "She's my sister," I answered honestly. "Okay, do you think you know enough to fill out these forms," I nodded to her question. "I'll let one of the nurses in surgery know you're here so the doctor can come fill you in," I nodded as if I understood but my nerves were beyond bad. I sat down in one of the waiting room chairs, my leg bouncing like a maniac, as I filled out the form.

My phone began to ring a few minutes later and I figured it was Miss Janice or Jyrell. "Hello," I answered without looking. "Yeah, we just pulled up. What room is she in," Jyrell asked? "She's still in surgery, I don't even know what happened or anything," I said wiping my watery eyes with the back of my hand. "It'll be fine I'm sure, just calm down Ken. I'm on my way in," he reassured me before hanging up. God, I loved that man! Why couldn't Nikko be like that with my girl? She deserved that!

Just as Jyrell had promised, he came walking in five minutes later, Nikko right behind him. "Have you talked to a doctor yet," Jyrell asked taking a seat next to me. Nikko instead leaned against a wall with his hat pulled low. "No," I swallowed hard. "What's up with your girl? Does she attract trouble or something," Nikko scoffed, looking around the room. I rolled my eyes, "She attracted you right," I mumble. He didn't reply, and we sat there for hours before someone came out to talk to us! The doctor came walking out, and was a black man in his thirties, a nice close shave haircut, nice smooth skin, and probably under that uniform a nice body. This had to be a good sign.
