Chapter 13

Haylee's pov 

I walked to class and i realized i had cameron. Great. Pheromones. 

''were you?'' he said and i looked at him.

''i saw a really hot guy'' i said and he chuckled

''thats not how pheromones work'' he said and i sighed 

''yes there's a guy'' i said 

''who'' he said and smiled not bothered by the fact and i was grateful. 

''someone'' i said and smiled 

''ohhh you like him!'' he said 

''shhh!'' i said and he laughed 

''hey and im sorry for ya know almost kissing you'' he said 

''its okay'' i said and smiled 

''can tell you had other fun though thats why you were late'' he said and i chuckled 

''oh god'' i said and he laughed 

''cameron and haylee would you like to share with the class or should we get back to the lesson'' the teacher said and i sighed 

''back to the lesson and we can finish out conversation'' i said and everyone ohhed

''you can finish it in the office'' she said 

''nah me and cameron can just leave and finish the conversation somewhere else'' i said and got up and grabbed my stuff and cameron and i walked out and he laughed.

''so what now we are skipping'' he said 

''oh yeah but im driving'' i said and he smiled 

''can you drive'' he said 

''pretty sure'' i said and he regretted giving me the keys and i laughed 

''im kidding'' i said and we got in the car and i drove off.

''so where are we going'' he said 

''you will see'' i said 

''oh jesus don't kill me'' he said and i laughed

''im not gonna kill you'' i said 

I got to where i wanted. 

''ice cream'' he said

''not only ice cream the best damn ice cream in alaska dude'' i said and he laughed and we went inside and we sat down and we ordered our ice creams and i noticed cameron was looking at me. 

''what'' i said

''you know i was wondering when you would step into the light'' he said 

''what do you mean?'' i asked

''haylee i've noticed you ever since freshman year'' he said and i gave a confused look.

''the first time i saw you was freshman year you walked into the cafeteria with james and god you don't know how jealous i was of him. I would notice how much you skipped school and at first i thought it was with him but i would always notice he was at school and you weren't and i couldn't put my finger on it until sophomore year came and nick came home one day talking to his dad about this girl at school who got beat. That day he told your dad that you were raped and he felt so awful he came home crying telling him what he saw but to this day nick doesn't know i know. At first i thought it could be some random girl then when i saw nick arguing with james about it nick said to stop or he would put james in his place and get the cops involved then i realized it was you. I was angry i was furious when i found out it was you and i told tanner.'' he said and i looked down

''tanner knew i liked you and he said not to do anything because i wanted to kill james so he calmed me down. Then i noticed you were there for almost a month and then i realized all those times you were gone on long breaks you were letting the bruises heal'' he said and he grabbed my hand.

''im not telling you i love you for nothing haylee'' he said 

''im telling you because i want you to know that i respect your decision if im not your mate i won't be hurt because i know i will always have that love for you and ill never just sit back and watch you go through something like that again because you deserve the best and if it isn't me then i hope it is someone good for you because i don't want to have to kill them like you killed james'' he said and i chuckled and wiped my tears. 

How could he be single. He's such an amazing guy.

''bestfriends?'' he said and i smiled 

''bestfriends'' i said and he gave me his pinky and we locked it and as cheesy as it sounds we promised to be bestfriends no matter what.

We sat there for hours laughing about things we told each other like our favorite comedy movies and him telling me old stories from his childhood even though when i told him mine i didn't really have much to say cause it was all a lie.

''hey you are here now right? you can start making memories yourself'' he said and smiled 

''thanks cam'' i said and i looked at my phone and it was blown up with messages and i realized all that time my mind wasn't open to any mindlinks so i didn't get any. 

''shit i didn't realize it was seven'' i said 

''fuck are you serious?'' he said

''yes and i should've noticed after we got a refill almost ten times'' i said and he laughed 

''ill drop you off where do you need to go?'' he said 

''um let me link tori real quick.'' i said and he nodded

''tori don't kill me'' i linked 

''WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!?!'' she yelled through the link and i jumped up

''that bad?'' he said and i nodded

''with cameron'' i linked

''oh then you are excused'' she linked and i rolled my eyes.

''can i crash at yours? i move in with my parents tomorrow'' i linked

''of course hun need me to pick you up?'' she linked

''no cam said he could drop me off'' i linked

''details when you get here!'' she linked and i cut it off and linked my mom i was staying at tori's one last time before i moved. 

''alright lets go'' i said and we got to the car and got in and he drove off.

''so i pick you up tomorrow?'' he said and smiled 

''sure but this time you can surprise me with something'' i said 

''well then im picking you up in the morning to go get breakfast then we can head off'' he said 

''well then i will see you tomorrow'' i said 

''be ready at ten'' he said 

''sir yes sir'' i said and he laughed 

''night hay'' he said 

''night cam'' i said and i got out and walked inside and tori was standing there waiting for me to walk in and i laughed.

''you look like a proud mother after her daughter went on a date'' i said 

''i am!'' she said and i laughed

''you are not my mom'' i said

''shut it now lets go talk about what happened'' she said and pulled me upstairs
