⚡Chapter 14⚡
Nighttime Conversation

You were just about to head to bed when you saw Laxus at the balcony, looking over the quiet city.
"Laxus?" You called,
"Hm?" He glanced at you,
"What are you doing up, aren't you gonna sleep for tomorrow?" You asked,
"I'm not ready to sleep." He replied, facing back toward the city's view. "Okay, I'll stay.." You stood right next to him and leaned against the balcony's iron rail,
"Why?"
"Until you're ready to sleep." You two stood there in complete silence until you decided to break the silence chain, "You know, I always used to speak of my grandfather as some kind of God but on the inside, I see him as the remains after a forest fire." You started, Laxus looked at you in disbelief. "Yeah, it's true. I did every single thing to please him but it sometimes never meets up to his standards, I wanted to stay in Fiore and soon inherit Fairy Tail but he had other plans, I had to change my demeanour, my looks, my personality, all that to please him.." 
"It seems selfish if you'd ask me. Makarov doesn't ask much of me, but what did I do? I made a little rebellion against him so I can be the new guild master and I was kicked out of the guild, and was expelled from Fiore High because of threatening the headmaster of the school.."
"I threatened him, why didn't he expel me?"
"Don't know," he replied,
"Back at Tenroe Island I pretty much punched your old man in the face, and the stomach, and in the back.." He confessed,
"He deserved it.. Even though I hated him, I still cried when I saw the life being drained from his body.. I don't know why." You sniffed and rubbed your eyes, "Are you.. Crying?" You grandfather always said that crying was for weaklings so weren't supposed to cry, not ever, not even show a sad face.. "Wha- no, the cold wind is making my eyes water." You lied and wiped your watery eyes, which he knew but he kept it as that. "So what about Ishtar?"
"She was like a little sister to me, we trained together, laughed together.. Everything sisters do. But then we located Zeref that was on Tenroe island, abducting him became a failure, most of our comrades died, Ultear and Meredy flee and left the guild behind, all that was left was me, Anna, Ishtar, that strange guy with glasses and Hades. Zeref killed Hades and the weird guy right in front of our eyes, he was gonna kill us too! But I convinced him that we weren't a part of it, I was incompetent, not fit to be the guild master of Grim War Heart so I disbanded it, Anna and Ishtar was upset but I reasoned, Anna understood but Ishtar was rather difficult and she hates me up to this very day.." You sniffed, "All I wanted was the best for the both of them, for her but no.."
"I don't know if this'll make you feel better but, Makarov said  that when I'm lost, just do this and he'll find me." He made an 'L' sign with his thumb and index finger and pointed it in the air, "This?" You fixed your fingers the wrong way,
he chuckled, "No, not like that.." he fixed your fingers the way he did, you looked up at him and so did he. You two were dangerously close, you can feel the heat of his breath on your nose, he ran his hand all the way to your palm and held both of them, you can't help but blush a million shades of red, you then trailed your hands on his shoulders and rested them on his chest. "I can't even remember why we didn't really get along.." You muttered, "Neither can I.." he replied, snaking his muscular arms around your (broad, thin, average) waistline and with that, your faces drew closer and closer and closer.. "(Name), you out there!? We gotta wake up for the big day tomorrow, y'know!" (Exceed Name) said, you two immediately distanced yourselves. "I had a nice talk with you, Laxus, goodnight.." You shuffled away from Laxus to your exceed, "Yeah, (Name), goodnight.." He passed his fingers through his spiky blonde hair, you glanced back at him once more then walked away with (Exceed Name).
"Soo, what were you two talking about?" Your exceed asked, "I asked him how he got expelled from Fairy Tail and he told me.."
"Oh.. Okay."  
"Yeah, hehe." You chuckled nervously, "Let's get some rest, it's a big day tomorrow." You said,
"Yeah, g'night." you tucked your exceed into (his/her) little bed and soon replied,
"Goodnight.." You dived back onto your bed and stared up at the dark ceiling and thought about the previous events that took place and smiled.
And at that very moment  you knew, you did have feelings for him.
