Dallas' POV ○●○●○
I asked Ivy out for a date night after I surprised her with the Rolling Stones record so now its a week later and I'm waiting for her at the Curtis' house. She said that she wanted time to get ready so she can surprise me, so I wasn't allowed home today. This is why I'm waiting at the Curtis'.
Soda and Steve were playing cards, who knew where Two-Bit was, Darry was reading the paper on his arm chair and Johnny and Ponyboy were watching TV. "How long does it take for girls to put on a little bit of lipstick and some high heels?" I whined
"Evie don't take too long, she usually just does her hair all nice and wears an extra bit of makeup if she wants to be fancy. But I don't really care, I think she's beautiful just the way she is." Steve commented
"My mom used to get all dressed up for my dad before things went to shit. She'd take near hours but my dad was always patient, I miss those times. How they were still in love and would take time to be happy together." Johnny commented
Any talk about Johnny's parents made me tense. I hate how they treat him and each other, no household should be that out of control. The fact Johnny has been beat like an abandoned puppy to the point where he is timid beyond his mind infuriates me. He's the most sweet, kind kid I've ever met. I mean sure my dad has belted me a few times but I'll admit I deserved it. Johnny deserves nothing of what he gets, he don't even talk back.
"Have you and Ivy been on a proper date yet?" Darry asked
I shrugged, "Not really."
"Well that's why." Sodapop commented, "She wants to be all dolled up for y'alls first date."
"Dal you guys have been together for how long and you've never asked her out until last week?" Ponyboy sarcastically asked
"Don't sass me kid, I just didn't take it into consideration until recently." I replied
"Ain't it obvious?" Sodapop smirked, "Dally's in love."
"Careful," Darry teased, "love makes you do stupid things."
I rubbed the back of my neck, "Yeah I uh...might of already gone there."
