They both reached the café and started talking about each other's lives. In between their, conversation the waiter showed up and asked to place the order.'Two cappuccino and a peanut butter sandwich,' Kaushik said.'Sorry sir, we don't serve a peanut butter sandwich,' the waiter said. 'Oh! Is it? Okay, get the coffee.' Kaushik said. 'You still remember that I like peanut butter sandwiches,' Pallavi asked.'How can I forget the things you like. I was one of them.' He said.'Hah!' she sighed. 'Remember during our college days, where we were marked as the best couple,' he said.'Yeah, those days gave a good memory,' she said.'You know, the other students in the college used to keep a bet on us, whether we will continue the relationship even after college or not,' he said.'And because of you, many lost their bet. Am I right?' she taunted. 'It's not because of me, it's because of you, without any intimation you got married' he started quarreling. 'We both promised that we will get married as soon as we complete our graduation,' she said.'Yeah but....' while he was saying, she interrupted and said, 'but you didn't show up. We planned to get married, even though my marriage got fixed with someone; I was ready to marry you. The day before my marriage, I packed all my stuff and was all set to run out of my house, but you didn't show up. I tried calling you, but you kept rejecting my calls. I called up your friend; he told me you were dating someone. You dumped me, and I got married, forcefully because of you,' she began to sob. 'It was your part of the story; you didn't know what was going on with me. My parents got to know about our relationship as one of my close friends told them about it, and my grandfather passed away on the same day. I was ready too, but all these situations surrounded me. I tried contacting you everywhere, but I couldn't find you. For the past 12 years, I kept looking for you, to confess that situation and seek you an apology,' he said.'I accept your apology because I didn't know about it. Let's forget the past, so how is your life?' she asked. 'Life?... umm... My life, after your absence, was full of ups and downs. I was in depression for months after hearing about your marriage and the demise of my grandfather. A year later, I joined my father's business, later got married to one of my father's business partner's daughter. After my marriage, everything started being stable,' he said.
