"Maya" Riley knocks

I open the door , finding Riley looking like a sad mess

She looks at me

"I'm sorry" Her sad eyes lock with mine

"Riley, is something wrong?" I let her in

"I-I , no "

"Riles, I know that something is bothering you, what happened ?"

"No, okay? I'm fine!" She snaps

"Okay, I'm sorry, Riley you can talk to me"

"I- I know, I'm sorry, it's just , I like someone and it's confusing"

"You're ready to talk about it?"

"Yeah"

"Okay"

"I realized-" Her phone rings

She looks relieved

-Hey, Jen , what's up

-great! I'll tell Maya, thanks

She hangs up and looks at me with a small smile

"Jennifer called, and invited us to her house "

"Oh, we can talk whenever you want"

"Thanks Peaches, I need to get things off my mind"

"Promise me you will tell me"

"Then, let's go"

I grab her sweaty hand

"Hey!" Jennifer smiles

We sit and wait for Justin and Kate

"So where is everyone else?"

"My parents and my siblings went shopping"

I won't have to see that perfect fake boy

"So guys! Guess who has a boyfriend?" Jen smiles and raises her eyebrows

Riley looks a little sad for some reason

"Me!" She does a victory dance a very good one actually , compared to Riley's and Smackle's

The three of us laugh

"Great, is he from school?" Riley smiles

"Nope, I met him over the internet and he came to meet me in person awhile ago, we hanged out and talked every day when he was away, then he came back and asked me out"

"Oh, does he seem trustworthy?"

"Yeah, I wasn't sure about dating him at first because I  didn't even know a thing about him, but then I met him and he is really sweet"

"Then I'm so happy for you" Riley smiled

"Me too" I looked at Jen

"Thanks guys, you'll like him"

"Yeah, I hope we get to meet him some day"

"He's coming today"

"That's great! Let's make sure he isn't a killer" I joke

"Peaches!" Riley and Jennifer laugh

"Okay so let's me make some snacks" Jennifer takes us to the kitchen

"Riley can you make popcorn?"

Riley nods and looks for the box

"I'll make guac" Jen grabs the avocados

"And Maya can you-" The doorbell rings

"Take the door" I finish with a chuckle

"Yeah"

I run to get the door

I open it and smile not realizing what or who was in front of me

My eyes go wild

And my smile falls
