Ava's POV

----------------

Chase and I were headed out of the hospital and it suddenly dawned on me that I'd be alone with Chase. All night. Just the two of us, millions of possibilities, what could possibly go wrong? Was my mom actually crazy? Would Chase want to take it to another level? I mean he was a guy, and his history wasn't squeaky clean. Ugh, who am I kidding? He's a gentleman, he wouldn't do anything unless I said it was okay. The thing was, I would be all up for it. That was the problem.

"I don't like when you're quiet, it makes me think you're up to something." Chase said jokingly. Oh man, if he only knew what I was thinking.

"Just thinking about school." I said thinking of a quick lie. I'm aware that lying is bad, but I'm not gonna tell him I was thinking about him taking advantage of me, and that'd I'd possibly enjoy it. I'd seem even more pathetic.

"Now, that's a total lie. You hate school." Chase said holding the car door open for me. Crap! He knows! I mean I am a terrible liar, who am I trying to fool here? How can I be panicky and still swoon over him holding the door open for me.

"I've just never had a guy be with me alone all night!" I blurted. He looked at me with a weird expression. Great, now he thinks i'm crazy. Why do I have to be so awkward?!

"Don't worry about it." Chase said chuckling. He then reached over to grab my hand. "We won't do anything you don't wanna do." Oh trust me, I do.

"It's not that I don't want to, it's just that- ugh never mind." I said nervously. I could just feel the heat on my cheeks reappear. They seemed to do that every time Chase even spoke to me. Just thinking about him gave me butterflies.

"What was that? You, Ava, 'so called prude' would want to sleep with me?!" Chase said teasing me. If I wasn't blushing then, you can bet I was as red as a firetruck now.

"Stop!! You're making this happen!"  I said gesturing towards my cheeks.

Chase glanced at me before turning his eyes towards the road. He then said, "I like it when you blush, it's cute."

No way he just called me cute! Didn't he know that calling a girl 'cute' was practically an insult. Cute was meant for fluffy things. I was not fluffy."You do realize calling a girl cute is insulting, right?" I said turning towards him with my eyebrows raised.

"What? Can I not call my girlfriend cute?" Chase said frowning.

"Nope. It's in the girlfriend handbook. Did you not get one?" I said sarcastically. I sure did love to push his buttons sometimes. It was 'cute'.

"Fine, Ava Kendrick is the hottest piece of meat i've ever seen in the whole world!!" Chase yelled causing me to laugh.

"Wow, so i'm a piece of meat now?" I said trying to keep my serious face on. It was so hard with the face he was making now. He had a mixture of confusion, disbelief, and sorrow on his face. Not gonna lie, he was still hot.

He continued to stare at me, and I was beginning to worry, considering he was driving, and we were on the highway. "Chase I'm kidding! not about the cute part though. You are not allowed to call me cute." I said laughing.

"I was two seconds from dropping you off in the side of the road." Chase said in a joking matter.

"You like me way too much to do that." I said turning on the radio.

"True, you're practically stuck with me now." Chase said interlacing our fingers. There goes those butterflies again.
