"Zeke!" I shrieked, grabbing at the white feathers on my back. "What bab-" Zeke fell off the bed leaving a string of cuss words behind. "I have wings!" I yelled and turned around to face him. He struggled to get up. The mop of black hair sat messily on Zeke's head. His hazel eyes glowed black before black wings spread from his back.
"I do too." He said, calmly. My shoulders slumped as I walked over to him and slapped his face. Zeke fell back to the ground with more curses following him. "Why?!" I shrieked using my unknown strength to lift him and pin him against the wall. "You mean your mother hasn't visited you yet?" He asked, still only half awake. "My mom's dead remember?" I asked, releasing his collar.
"Go to sleep." He placed his hand on my forehead as I fell to the ground.
"Where am I?!" I demanded the darkness to speak to me. "My sweet child, you're blindfolded." The sound of a sweet old woman traveled to my ears. I reached for the back of my head and pulled at the knot until the cloth around my eyes fell off. "Your eyes even look like mine..." A woman came into sight. "Who are you?" I asked stepping forward only to not move.
"You're in the depths of your mind. I am your mother, Evangelia. My name is Willow and you are the next Master Elementalist." She spoke, stepping forward, actually moving. Willow moved gracefully to stand directly in front of me and gently placed her hand on my cheek. Tears ran down my face as I looked at her.
"You have many questions, no doubt. Zeke will take you to the floating island. There your questions shall be answered. Now go, my child." Willow's hand lightly touched my chest and pushed me back forcing me to fall.
"Mom!" I sat up quickly and searched the room. "Relax, Gelia, You're still in your room." Zeke's voice calmed me. "What does she mean by floating Island?" I asked him, turning to him. "Elementalists hideout. Lemme guess, Willow told you that I was supposed to take you to it?" He asked sarcastically. I nodded slowly and stood up to look at myself in the mirror.
"Well, whenever you're ready." He grabbed his leather jacket and walked out of my room.
"I'm so confused." Tears ran down my face as I slouched to the ground. My body felt heavy as I replayed the weird 'depths of my mind' dream over and over in my head. "If all that is true then...my mother's still alive?" I asked myself as I used my dresser to bring myself back up. "If you think you're not ready then change your mindset. Force yourself to think that you're ready." I quoted my father, readying myself in the mirror.
"I'm ready!" I yelled, looking at myself in the mirror. The black skinny jeans complemented my Calvin Klein long coat which covered my black tank top. My brown curly hair was tied in a messy bun that left enough room to show my rainbow eyes. Zeke stood in the doorway, eyeing me up and down making me smirk. "You look, Badass." He said, walking over and pulling me into a kiss. "Let's go." He placed his hand on my forehead again making me fall limp into his arms.
"Why are we here?" I asked, squeezing Zeke's hand. "I need to find out where the hell this island is." He replied the two beautiful black wings spread from his back again as he looks behind us over the edge. "Stay here." He let go of my hand and jumped off the edge. I watched as he turned into a black blur. "It's not like I can go anywhere," I mumbled crossing my arms. I tried to will myself to move forward but the area ahead of me didn't move.
"How come you can move but I can't?" I asked, trying to run but the sight ahead never moved. "Because I've actually been here before. You've only seen this area in dreams." Zeke said before pushing me back only to fall into his arms and outside of my house.
"It's about to be right above us." He said, picking me up bridal style and flying upwards turning the both of us into a blur. A caught a look at the beautiful island below us before Zeke flew down at the speed of light, literally.
"Wow..." I said, breathless. The scenery around me was beautiful. The clouds were right below us. When I looked up I saw 4 temples like the ancient ones that you would see in China with 1 person standing outside of each. "This is the Elementals hideout. Here, you will train you elemental abilities and learn more about your past." Zeke said, smiling at my amazement. "Why didn't I find out about this earlier?" I asked, walking towards the beautiful temples.
As I got closer I could see the 4 people outside the temples. The woman standing in front of the grey temple had long white hair with long white robes that trailed behind her. Beside her sat a cherry tree full of birds.
The man standing outside the red temple had short black hair with fiery eyes. Beside him floated a staff decorated with 4 simple colors and writing in a language unknown. Another woman stood in front of the blue temple had short white hair with a long blue dress and bright golden eyes. On top of her head was a glowing golden crown with more of the language I couldn't recognize. Standing outside the green temple was a tall buff male with short dusty blonde hair. Around his neck sat a necklace with beautiful symbols on it.
"Who are these people?" I asked quietly.
"We are the guardians of the elements. We train the Elementalist with the rainbow eyes!" They yelled in unison.
"Evangelia, This is the start of your training drop your coat and prepare to fight!"
