Chapter 15: Dead-end street

- If you want your phones back,one of you will have to look after Esteban Rodriguez. This morning he fought with some older students. They all ended in the infirmary,but Esteban ran away. Your mission is to protect him.- I was about to say I didn't accept when Isabella said

- I heard he's in a gang that passes near Isabel's district! And you normally are hanging out,I'm too busy lately.-

- What?!- and I couldn't refuse. That's what they told me. Ugh.

Well,getting back to me in class,Isabella whispered to me

- I heard Esteban is in the street gang Resistance. They are like one of the five major street gangs that exist in this city.- Really? Bogota is a huge city but I never thought there would be so many. Well,I don't adventure myself around the whole city. And I always stay in safe places.

Just there,the door slammed open and Esteban entered. He has pale skin and messy black hair. He was wearing dark clothes and the thing I noticed the most was the grey and black baseball jacket he was wearing. It had a cross sewn on the back.

- That's the gangs jacket...- I whispered to Isabella. Everyone went silent. And our teacher,mrs.Child,said to him

- Why are you so late?- he didn't say anything. She asked again

- Why are you so late?- he went to the end of the class,sat down and said

- I don't care old raisin,I just want to see what trash you're teaching us...-

-How dare you say education is trash? Your a bad influence for everyone! I don't understand why they keep you in this school...- she replied. Mrs.Child was extremely angry. I stood up and said

- Let's all calm down. Hey,Esteban,why don't you try to be nicer to your teachers okay?- he looked at me and stood up too. He came near me and said

- Just because you're a good student doesn't mean you're a saint. I know about these 11 guys you hang out with. All you are is a slut. Now tell me,are they as good on top as they are below?- I was ANGRY!

- How dare you call me a slut? You're worst than anything! You..- I was going to insult him when Esteban just punched me in the face and ran away. - OW! YOU COWARD! YOURE JUST A CHICKEN!- I said. Ludwig came near me and asked

- Are you okay?- I nodded and I responded

- Let's go get him!- I started running after Esteban with Ludwig. I completely forgot I'm bad at sport,but still,I ran after him. Ludwig ran extremely close to Esteban. He grabbed his arm and I yelled

- Great! Keep him like that!- and I removed my shoe and threw it at Esteban.

- Ow! Why did you do that witch?- he yelled.

- You deserve it!- I said. The monitors came and took Esteban away.

- He's just a rapscallion.- said Arthur. Then Leen came and told me

- Isabel! Your nose is bleeding!- I looked at my shirt and yes,it was bleeding. Kate handed me some tissues and Leen told me to lean my head forward. So I did. Luddy held the tissues for me,and he gave me a "feel-better" kiss!

That afternoon,I was going with Ludwig to look for some books near the mall. It's a really cool bookshop called "The Rabbit's Hole". It's not your typical book store,this one is really cool and has decorations and they sell these puppets of famous people too! And maybe we could buy some clothes in Pull & Bear afterwards!

We arrived to the bookshop and I greeted the clerks,Juan. I knew him well because I'm a common customer.

- Hey! Is there something you want?- he asked me.

- Oh no,just looking around!- I said. Ludwig and I looked first at some of the newest novels they had,then I said he should buy the Beethoven puppet they had. After some time thinking,he bought a book I already read "The City Of The Beasts" and I bought the latest novel of Ana Pessoa and a cute stationary set. We left the store and Ludwig said

- I might buy the Beethoven puppet...- I smiled. We headed towards Pull & Bear which was right next to the mall. Before I could enter,I recognized a voice.

- Isabel! привіт!- she said. It was Olga!

- Hey! What are you doing here?- I asked her.

- I'm just hanging out with my boyfriend!- behind her was a man with bronzed skin,brown hair and a mask.

- Merhaba! I'm Sadiq. So you're a friend of Olga's?- said Turkey or Sadiq.

- Yeah,she's a classmate of my brother. She's Isabel,and maybe you know Ludwig.- said Olga smiling. I shook his hand,just like Ludwig and I said

- We are going to Pull & Bear,so...- just there I saw someone familiar across the street. It was...

Esteban! He was with other gang members.

We needed to fix some things,so I decided to run after him. Ludwig said

- Wait! Liebe! Careful!- he ran after me,and the. He noticed Esteban too.

- Esteban! Wait!- I yelled. He saw me and ran away with his companions. I followed him a long way. I looked back for a moment and Ludwig wasn't there. I was sure he'll catch up. Then,Esteban took a a turn to the right and I followed him. It was a dead end. I ran into it to see if he was there,but no. He disappeared. How? Just when I turned around,Esteban was there.

- Hey,I think you need to know...- his other companions from the gang came out, he's slowly walking towards me.

- Hey,I just want you to apologize for what you did this morning and I'll apologize for that shoe I threw at you.- I said nervously.

- I won't apologize for what I said you know...- Esteban grabbed my shirt and slammed me against the wall. - I'm tired of you trying to help me!- he said.

I was too scared. Really scared.

- Leave me alone!- yelled Esteban,he wasn't letting me go. I was about to cry. I was so scared.
