1- You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.

- Walt Disney

"Yeah okay Jax I get it, no tell her that I'm busy or something. You know what tell her him not fucking interested." I press the end call botton with a loud sigh, I run my hands through my hair aggressively hoping for no one else to irritate me today.

I walk into the lobby of my building, the glass doors swing open letting the warm air greet me quickly. My shoulders relax and finally I walk to the elevators.

Minx was begging me to come with her, Maven, Jax, Levi and Hadley to an amusement park this evening but I declined. I didn't feel in the mood, but Minx being the persistent annoyance she is asked Jax to call me.

He got the same answer.

The click the botton to get in the elevator. I pull out my key card and push it in the slot. I hit floor 4 and wait for the doors to close.

A girl with brown that hair that was messily styled in a wild ponytail rushed to the doors I was going to stop it but someone called her and groaned turning to them. That's when the doors to the elevator closed.

I wait untill I reach my floor before stepping out. I walk up to my door and unlock it with the key. The smell off pancakes wafted in my nose.

Mom was cooking again.

Her smile widened when she heard me come in. "Jason! I'm making pancakes!" She grins at me childishly.

I shake my head, "It's nearly eight o'clock mom." I chide her softky.

She frowns and places and hand on her hip. "If it's so late why are you just now getting home?" She waves the spoon around as she raises an eyebrow at me.

"I'm big boy, " I pauses, "How are you feeling? Did nurse June come by and take your blood?" I ask her licking the batter off the spoon.

My mom's eyes narrow, "I feel fine, just like I did this morning" I knew she hated being babied but I had to.

"Mom this is serious, be serious." I scold her with a frown.

She pouts and crosses her arms over her chest leaning back on the counter. " I honestly feel fine, I took too naps just like John told me too." She tells me.

"Where is dad anyways?" I stand up straighter looking around the apartment.

She frowns, "He left for work at four he won't be back untill late." She reminds me, dad schedule has always been weird. He can be called in at any time, he works as a CEO of Venus Coorp. That specialize in the medical scheme of things.

"Oh mom did you take the antibiotics for your cold?" I ask her remembering the cold she caught a few days ago.

She sighs, "Yes I did. Nurse June practically force fed them to me. It was that big of deal." I hate when she says that. Of course it's big deal, your health is important.

"Mom it's is a big deal. If you get an infection, your immune system can't help you. You can't get sick right now, it's crucial you don't. Why don't you understand that?"

She grinds her teeth together, and looks at the ground. Her hand pulls at stand of bright purple hair pulls her wig off. She throws it to the ground. "I get it, I have cancer but I need to live my life while I still can."

My heart drops, "Your getting better, I've seen the reports. I can't let you die, dad won't let you die. Mom your not going to die. You'll be able to live your life once the cancer is gone and your immune system is tip top again." I pause, "I know it's long and tedious but it will work out."

I bend over and grab her wig. She loved these thungs, of course she felt insecure about losing her hair from chemo but the wigs helped her pull some fun into it.

She took the wig from me and turned kff the stove. Coming up with an excuse she says, "I'm going to go take a nap, there is some pancakes on the table." She murmurs.

I wanted to kick myself, Why'd I have to upset her. Perfect, just perfect.

A gutting feeling arose in my stomach, I'm kinda of wishing I went to the amusement park with them after all. Deciding I need someone air, I call out. "I'll be right back!"

I slip out the door and go down to the lobby. I find a seat by the window and look out at the town that was full of so much life.

My eyes dart over the a group of people singling out one girl that caught my eye, it was the chick that missed the elevator.

She had soft brown hair that fell past her shoulders but had soft waves coursing through it. Her face was slightly tanned giving her a glowy look to her face, her nose had a sprinkle of freckles scattered throughout her cheeks and the bridge of her perky nose. Her hazel eyes had a greenish tint to them as she talked with her friends.

She wore a shirt that hugged her chest but covered her cleavage and stopped right above her belly button. She paired it with black high waisted ripped jeans and black combat boots.

Someone came through the doors and called a name, "Wonder!"

The girl I had been watching perked up at the sound of her name." Hey!" She grins making deep indents become visible on her face.

Her name was Wonder.
