We all chatted excitedly about what answers we had put to what questions for our Maths exam as we exited the hall.
'I finished just in time as well!' Jayden screeches
'I'm so fucking happy! Exams finally over!' Nia shrieks.
'Dunknow! Exams fi dead!' Michael shouts throwing up gang signs.
'I am free. I am finally free.' I say in amazement.
'We are definitely going out to celebrate.' It was 2.40pm, Friday 13th June 2014, and we had just completed our last gcse exam for this year.
'Yeah, where?' I ask. We could leave straight away since it was a Friday and we usually finished school at 2.
'Burgess Park or summin. The weather's looking sexy as well.' He grins. We all agree, it was quite a hot day, summer should be good. I gasp as I feel someone wrap their arms around me from behind but relax when I realise its Dontae. It had currently been 6 months and 5 days since we've been in a relationship, not that I was couting, and we were still going good.
'You alright?' His voice vibrates in my ear. I nod as he plants a small kiss on my cheek. As we make our way to our lockers, we discuss which park to go to.
'I say Lloyds Park in Croydon.' Keiara says.
'Nah, Lloyds is so dead.' Michael tuts. 'I say Burgess.'
'Why can't we just go to the park across the road from school?' I ask with my eyebrows furrowed. I received multiple screws so decided my mouth should be kept shut from now on.
'Hyde Park.' Nia grins.
'Who's travelling there in uniform tho?' Dontae says scrunching up his face.
'Let's go to Dontae's. His back garden is like a park anyway.'
'It's too nice a day to have some dead motive. Let's just go Burgess or Brockwell.'
'Ite. Who wants to go Burgess?' Jayden asks. Keiara, Corahn, Sophie, Jordan, Ade and Princess put their hands up. 'Brockwell?' Jayden, Nia, Dontae, Michael, Aliyah and Devarni put their hands up.
'What about you Jayda?' Everyone turns to me since I was the only one who hadn't voted.
'Which one has swings?'
'Brockwell does.'
'Yeah, so does Burgess.'
'I wanna go Brockwell.' I shrug causing everyone who wanted to go Burgess to groan.
'Of course she would choose where her man wanted to go.' It had to be Ade. I decide to just ignore him. Annoying prick.
'Always commenting man, shut up.' Nia tuts in annoyance.
'Sorry, Miss I'm in a Relationship with Jayden But I'm Not Telling Anyone.' Ade says causing us all to laugh. Even though I depised him, he was actually really funny.
'Sorry, Mr I'm A Loner Cos I Have No Girls.' Nia screws him. Since the beginning of the year new friendships had formed. Our little group had expanded as Aliyah was now my babes, Michael had drifted away from Marcel, and his old friends and joined us, Princess had joined us and Devarni and Ade were also slowly becoming part of us. It was quite nice, though I still don't like Ade.
'Did you hear bout the beef?' Aliyah says turning to me. I shake my head as I watch her get excited. 'Okay, you know how Cassie and Chennai are apparently best friends now? Yeah, and Cassie is linking some boy called Andrew, who doesn't go to this school?' I nod as I take my bag out my locker, waiting for her to expand. 'Apparently, Chennai and Andrew have beat at least 10 times behind Cassie's back!'
