THE KISS

My cheeky dedication to ronadreamlace's new book, 'Kissed' with a wink and a smile.

Ever wonder why, aside from a few apes,

humans are the only animal whose lips purse outward?

Is the fact that the lips are the densest zone

of nerve endings on the body something you've ever heard?

So nor epinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, pheromones

is the carnival of cranial nerves this impassioned action serves

A subtle pout of parted lips

Azure skies in beckoning eyes

Pools of expectant promise

The sweet taste of moist tongue tips

The velvet touch of painted skin

Signals exploding within the brain

And the aroused body then reacts

Unbidden from signals within

An encounter of enduring bliss

Anticipated passion mounting

The melding of two meeting minds

With the prolongation of the kiss
