Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time . . .

It may not be written

Or spoken aloud

And the genre doesn't matter,

Nor location or time,

But it's there in each mind's eye

When writing prose or rhyme

The words all come from somewhere

Events, experience, imagination

Then they are suitably organized

Into a unique and new creation

To be absorbed and savoured

as something sublime

that at one time began with

Once upon a time.

Trying to write and that's as far as I got!
