Chapter 16

YUWANA POV:

I don't know why I ran, but it felt like a defeated loser running away. My son came to me, expressing his fear and telling me to drive carefully. Anita asked me what happened, but I remained silent. Troy was angry when he saw me in the hospital and advised me to rest.

Lying in the hospital bed, bored and staring at the ceiling, a memory from 7 years ago crossed my mind. It brought back the same pain as if it were happening now.

The night he proposed to me felt like the longest night ever. I had intended to confess my feelings through a message, but I made him wait. He called, but I ignored it and closed the curtains. That's when I saw him standing outside in the freezing cold, looking at my window. I called him and told him to go home, quickly ending the call before he could say anything. I didn't want to torment him, but I considered it his punishment for confessing out of jealousy.

Throughout the entire night, I tossed and turned, eagerly waiting for morning to arrive. I woke up to my mom's voice and went downstairs to find her talking with my dad. My dad lives in another country due to his business and usually visits during holidays. However, this time he didn't come, and my mom seemed to be venting her anger.

Despite living apart, their love for each other is so strong that it sometimes makes me wonder how one person can love another so deeply. I hope Alorn and I can have a love like that. My mom called me and gestured for me to take the call. "Hey, princess. How are you? I hope you're not angry like your mom, and I'm sorry for not coming. But I have a surprise for you," my dad said through Skype. "I'm fine, dad, and I'm not that angry. But what's the surprise?" I asked in my groggy morning voice. "You guys are coming to live with me in two days, so pack your bags and come to me." I was taken aback, and he assured me that everything had been arranged. I thought about telling Alorn, but I became busy packing my things.

My friends came to pick me up for Ron's party, which I was only allowed to attend after a lot of pleading. I wore a long black gown, put on pink lipstick, and braided my hair. I had planned to meet Alorn at the party as he was also going to be there, hoping to find a way to share my feelings with him. However, I decided to go with the flow. When I arrived at the party, I couldn't find Alorn. He didn't answer my calls, and the party was filled with drunken people, leaving me feeling bored. Someone served me a drink, and after consuming it, I started feeling dizzy. The whole world seemed to spin around me. I lost consciousness and have no memory of what happened next.

The next day, I woke up naked in a bed that wasn't mine, with a stranger lying next to me. The whole situation confused me, and I hurriedly went home, wearing borrowed clothes. My mom comforted me, and I told her the truth. She advised me to take a test, which revealed that I was pregnant. I made the decision to keep the baby and subsequently left my hometown. That day, I received a call from Nisila, but I didn't answer it. That was the day my life took a new turn, and I lost the love I had.
