In a small town in India, where people believed in kindness and humanity, in sharing and caring
there lived two families who were neighbors
"Mom is the baby going to come out anytime soon?" 5-year-old Rajendra asked his mother Padmini
"patience beta Rekha Aunty has just gone into the hospital room, it will take time"
"Why do you call her Aunty you both are big big?" Rajendra questioned again
"umm it's a way of saying "
"but why ?"
"I don't know Raja now be quiet Rahul uncle" She stopped her sentence when Raja looked at her when she was about to say Uncle "Rahul will be here soon, we will stay with Rekha till then"
"Mummy the new baby will play with me?"
Rajendra again asked her
"If you are good and play with him or her, then he or she will "a tired Padmini replied, her son asked a lot of questions
"will it be a boy or girl?"
"I don't know Raja now be quiet"
Raja pouted at this and sat quietly beside his mother
"I wish it a girl mummy," Raja said again
while Padmini just smiled at him
soon Rahul and Rohit(Padmini husband) came
both the families were close so they wanted to be present when Rekha was giving birth to the new addition to their small family
soon they heard the cry of a baby and they all gathered near the door
"they are hurting the baby!" Raja said scared and tried to enter the room but Rohit quickly caught him
"Hey Raja, they are not hurting the baby, the baby just came into the world" Rohit explained to him
"then why is she crying!" he asked a little angrily
"Don't worry beta, your friend is safe," Rahul told him
the doctor came out
"congratulations your wife has given birth to a baby girl"
and everyone cheered at the news, Raja was most happy as his wish came true
soon Rekha was discharged and both the baby and the mother were taken home
"what should we name the baby girl?" Rekha asked when all Rahul, Rohit, Padmini, and Raja had gathered around her, they all loved her, with her big brown eyes and cute baby lips and cheeks and soft skin, and everybody wanted to hold her
they all were discussing names when
"I will name her !" Raja said arrogantly
Padmini and Rohit tried to shush him but Rekha just smiled at him
"And what would that be Raja?" asked Rekha with a smile
"Rani! I am Raja so she is Rani" Raja said proudly
everyone laughed at his cute statement
"oh my Padmini, it seems I have already got a potential husband for my daughter," Rekha said amused
Padmini just laughed at this statement
but they didn't know Raja was damn serious when he proposed the name
"I think we should name her Anjali," Rahul said
and everyone agreed except one
for him, she would always be Rani!
