"It's probably time for you to go." Luke muttered, picking at his nails as he waited for Ashton to respond.

"Yeah alright, we're not doing anything this weekend right? But if you need me just call." Ashton patted Luke's back, ruffling his hair playfully before leaving his bedroom.

Now Luke was wondering why Ashton was doing this. He said it was because he understood what it felt like to be bullied first-hand, by none other than Luke himself, and he wanted to help. If he could brighten someone's day even a little bit, then he would.

Ashton was the type of person to sacrifice a whole day just to make a random stranger happy for a minute.

On the first day when Luke came back Ashton saw him walking down the corridor with his walking stick and sunglasses. Luke's old 'friends' started kicking the walking stick, instantly Luke felt betrayed. Everything he had ever worked for, his own damned eyesight lost because of the stupid football team and this is what he gets.

Luke searched around for his phone, finding it on his pillow and opening it up with fingerprint recognition. Then he asked Siri to go to a new contact he added only a few hours prior. "Hey Siri, call Annie."

After a few rings Annie picked up the phone, face mask plastered on her face as she had just finished brushing her teeth. She was ready to tuck into bed, read a few chapters of a new book she started and get some well needed rest. The last week had been hectic, amazing nonetheless but very tiring. The last thing she thought would be happening tonight would be Luke calling her.

"Hey Luke, how're you?" She didn't want to sound too surprised by his call, even if it was out of the blue.

Luke, however, completely forgot why he was calling her. He was feeling sorry for himself, but that's not a good enough reason to call her at 11:27pm.

"Oh, um, good, yeah good. You?" He shook his head, flopping back against his pillows as he scrunched his eyes shut. Why was he even doing this, she probably thought he was clingy or a psychopath or a stalker or something along those lines.

"I'm still thinking about our date... I'm about to get into bed after I wash my face." She whispered, going into the bathroom, and washing off her mask quickly, having Luke on speaker phone for the time being.

"I'm thinking about it too, I'm thinking about a lot actually..." he says whatever comes to mind. Luke needed her to know that he didn't feel too great at the moment, and she was the only one to calm him. Calm him of the eruption that just exploded inside his body that she triggered with her confession.

"Like what?" She smiled, only having positive thoughts as she hardly ever thought of the negatives. The negatives would consume her and make her head hurt and her heart hurt and her stomach twist. She vowed to only think of the positive.

"A lot. How people used to use me when I had my vision. I was thinking a lot about it and everyone was just using me for something for their own benefit. I know it sounds selfish and like everything revolves around me but I have these times where I think and I can't stop thinking and I don't know what to do but right now I wanted to talk to you to get my mind off of it." Luke rambled, his hand firm against his head.

Annie nibbles her bottom lip, pulling the duvet up to her chin and nuzzling into her pillow. She placed the phone on the pillow to her right, as if somehow that would make his presence appear.

"Well, right now I'm snuggled into bed, and I hate to admit it but I'm cuddling a pillow. I'm thinking that one day, maybe, it'd be nice if I wasn't cuddling a pillow but I was sleeping next to somebody." She whispered, closing her eyes and breathing in slowly.

Luke could imagine it too, being next to her in his room, cuddling in his bed. It made his head clear, his heart began to go back to its normal pace and he started to get changed into his pyjamas.

"That sounds nice." He muttered, placing his phone on the pillow to his left and pulling the duvet to his chin. Then he remembered to take off his sunglasses and place them to the side, rubbing his eyelids in fatigue. "Do you think, maybe, we could do that one day?"

"Yeah, I'd like that."

Luke decided that he wanted to do something with his Saturday instead of stay locked in his room listening to 'how I met your mother' reruns. Nothing was entertaining when you're blind. So, he called Ashton and asked for a lift to the mall, then directions to the record store.

Walking in, Ashton waved to the familiar brunette standing behind the counter and smiled. He guided Luke to the front, laughing as Annie nearly stumbled over the wires behind the counter.

"Hey, this guy wanted to see you. Well, hear you." Ashton chuckled, patting Luke's back as he linked arms with Annie. Annie said a quick goodbye to Ashton before leading the blond behind the counter and onto a spare seat.

"I enjoyed talking to you last night, as well as the date obviously." Annie told him, squeezing his hand lightly before leaning against the counter.

"I liked it too, that's why I came here actually. I wanted to thank you for yesterday. I'm sorry if I freaked you out, I was just overthinking, and I didn't really know what to do." Luke sighed, rubbing under his sunglasses at his achy eyes. He didn't know why they ached; he thinks he had them open without blinking for a long time but he can't be too sure.

"Hey, it's ok. I liked talking to you like that. It's no longer... just, I don't know, basic stuff that we're saying. We're going into detail about ourselves, and I love that, I'm glad we can do that." Luke wanted to get up right now and kiss her so hard that she'd fall to her knees.

He didn't feel aroused by this, but he felt a need to have her. But not have her as in 'naked on the bed and doing it' but as in 'kissing until we forget our names'. Luke always thought about the basic, the detail, and the everything and the fact that Annie did too made him love her even more. Like her even more.

He hated to admit how strongly head over heels he'd fallen for her. He's only known her a few weeks, yet everything was moving so quickly, but it still wasn't quick enough. He wanted to kiss her when he wanted and cuddle her and call her his. He wanted the everything with her now, but he had to be patient, and not mess up.

"You have no idea how much that means to me." Luke let out a breathy laugh, shaking his head as he smiled at her. He assumed she was right in front of him. And she was. She smiled back, placing a hand on top of Luke's and moving it to her mouth, allowing him to feel the smile on her face.

"So, um, what are you doing after work?" Luke asked, listening as she said a goodbye to the customer that had just bought a Bon Jovi album.

Annie spun around, smiling at him as she shrugged her shoulders. "Nothing exciting, I was just going to watch movies in bed, have something nice to eat." She bit her lip, hoping this was going in the direction she was thinking.

"That sounds nice." Was all Luke said, nothing of what Annie had hoped. She realised she would have to take this into her own hands.

"Did you want to join me?" She nibbled her bottom lip, a nervous habit she had gotten from her mother. She saw Luke's eyebrows raise from the top of his glasses, his lips start to curl into his infamous smirk and his cheeks tinted a cute pink colour.

"Sure, yeah, if that's ok with you." He stuttered out, also biting his top lip as his smirk contoured all his features. Annie had to admit he looked even hotter when he smirked, and she couldn't help the wobble in her legs and thud in her chest.

"Sounds perfect." Annie chuckled, rubbing a hand through her hair and calming herself. She couldn't believe she was this close with the previous most popular guy in school, but she was so happy she was. "I'm still here for a few more hours so if you wanted to call Ashton then I'll text you when I'm back? Or I could just go straight to your house after work if you want then we can walk to mine?"

"Sounds like a plan."
