"Another teacher? Really?"

"Don't act childish. This is for your own protection. You take your safety far too lightly. Now, I have important things to take care of so I must see you two out. Perhaps it would do you both good to get better acquainted since you will be in close company."

Though he said it like a request, both Nora and Tifa knew that Quinton was making a demand. They both left the room and Quinton shut the heavy wooden door behind them both, leaving them to stand awkwardly in the hallway, shuffling their feet.

"I'm sorry if this is a lot to take in." Tifa said, breaking the silence.

"No. No. You have nothing to apologize for. Excuse me if I seemed rude, I just wish he'd include me in some of the decision making, you know?"

Nora and Tifa began to walk forward, leaving the office behind them.

"From what I know of Mr. Reeves, ordering people about is his specialty. I was sent for at seven in the morning and expected to be here at eight." Tifa said chuckling.

"Oh that's awful! How did you deal with that?"

"I just dealt with it. I mean, he is my commander."

"Commander?" Nora asked.

"Well, yes. I mean I joined the ranks to act as...well let's say...the soldiers to this state."

Nora looked up at the taller woman, clueless.

"Errm....Mr. Reevers did inform me that you were a new to all of this. Well, our particular region - the Southern Quarter- is under primary supervision by our alpha, Haven. He resides in Ashokan. However, since one person cannot oversee everything, the region's states are each presided over by a beta and his/her fellow persons. For example, Mr. Reeves is the beta of this particular state."

Nora nodded her head as Tifa spoke, the pieces of the puzzle fitting together, allowing her to view the big picture.

"Me and many other wolves have volunteered ourselves to act as foot soldiers for the state - a militia so to speak."

"Wow....I mean, it's all very organized. I hadn't expected that. I don't know...something about us being wolves made me think that things would be much more chaotic. It's not very different from how the country is run - separation of powers and all."

"Who do you think gave them the idea?" Tifa said with a wink.

"No way!"

"Way. You said you are going to meet with a tutor?  He can explain our history in much more detail than I."

"Yes. I won't meet him until tomorrow but maybe it will be a little less dull than I think."

They stood at the foot of the stairs during their discussion, so caught up in their speech that they hadn't noticed Blaine coming down the stairs. It wasn't until Blaine was nearing them that Tifa and Nora caught sight of him.

"Good morning, Nora. I don't believe I know who you are?" Blaine said, turning to face Tifa.

"Hello. I am Tifa Deevo." Tifa spoke, holding her hand out to take Blaine's. They shook in greeting, their hands lingering a tad bit longer than necessary.

"Oh, why good morning, Blaine. This is Tifa. She's going to be my....well my body guard. I didn't have any say in this of course." Nora said tersely. "Tifa this is Quinton's right hand man."

"That's one way of putting it, but yes, I am Quinton's cohort." He said with a grin.

"My greatest respects." Tifa said, bowing her head.
