XXIX. Sugar Daddy

Start from the beginning

Bruce's and David's bodies tremble. They hug each other, causing Lily and me to pout. Realistically, we were glad Anthony brought up the topic because Bruce and David had been getting a bit too arrogant. Apparently, "everything is too boring."

"Yes, Mr.Maranzano," one of the men states, granting the boys a pitiful look.

"By the time I return, I expect both of you to choose a sport or extracurricular and excel in it. If it is still boring, we can add more," Anthony said with a devious smile.

Quickly, they shake their heads. "It's more than enough," Bruce said.

He bends down to their level. "Now, go."

Bruce and David rush towards the house with David kicking Bruce's butt. "Boring? Boring!"

"You're the one who said it was easy!" Bruce rebuttal.

Anthony glances at Lily. "Are your classes also boring?"

She shakes her head and steps back, grasping Pietro's hand. "Nope, I'm good," she said and pulled him inside the house. She turns towards me. "Have fun in New York! Bring me back a T-shirt!"

I sigh, glancing at Anthony whose face is still expressionless, yet somehow he looks satisfied. "Goodbye fratello maggiore e sorella maggiore," Francesco said with a grin. "Bring me back a woman."

My brows crunch, "Don't you mean a shirt or keychain?"

Francesco continues smiling, "No...I want a woman."

Anthony rolls his eyes and waves Francesco's nonsensical words away. Francesco puffs his cheeks "No love," he grumbled.

"All of your love brings me enough troubles," Anthony said. Francesco tends to sleep with married women, so it brings Anthony a lot of headaches.

Francesco places a hand on his chest and gasps. "Are you implying something?"

"I'm stating how you should stop bringing me trouble," Anthony flicked Francesco's forehead.

"So, it's my fault that those women decided to be unfaithful?" he said, then glanced at me. Anthony turned his head and looked at me too.

Giggles erupt from my trembling lips. "Oh, look at the time! Baby! Let's get going!" I sputter causing Anthony to quirk a brow at my sudden nickname of him. Calling the mafia leader baby, I must have a death wish.

"What are you doing standing right there? Open the door!" I command with a wave causing the driver to scrunch his brows before glancing at Anthony. He opened the door and I jumped into the car. "Come on baby! Let's go!"

He chuckles lowly before settling himself inside the car with me. The ride towards the airport was insanely quiet as I stared out the tinted window. "Baby?" Anthony said in pure amusement as his knuckles held his cheek.

I pucker my lips. "You don't like it?" I attempt to joke, despite wanting to cry. "Would you like a different nickname? Honey? Sweetheart? Daddy?" I continue joking, wanting to slap myself. Why can't you just shut up Angelica?

"Daddy."

I stop pounding my head against the window and turn towards him. "What?"

"Call me daddy."

I blink, turn towards the window then back at Anthony who's still staring at me. Opening my mouth, I quickly close it but then I open it again. "What?"

"You ask me what I want you to call me...daddy."

I giggle nervously. "I'm not going to call you daddy."

He clicks off his seatbelt and scoots closer to me causing me to flinch slightly. "Then, what do you want to name me?"

"Is it necessary?" I ask, swallowing the saliva in my throat when I feel his shoulder brush against mine. Anthony is much too close for comfort.

"Shows the world of our endearment for one another," he said slowly, as his thigh rubbed against mine.

I bit my lower lips. "Marito."

"Husband?" he questions.

I nod, "You're my husband, so doesn't it make sense that I call you that?"

He chuckles, a shallow one as we slow down at a red light. "So endearing," his voice sounds sarcastic. Of course, he would say such a thing; after all, he calls me - my heart - while I call him my husband.

"And daddy is endearing?" my sarcastic voice matches his.

His brows scrunch, "I thought women were into those things? No?"

"Which type of women are you talking about?" Our conversational exchange was much more casual than I thought it could ever be. For the last few weeks, I had been walking on eggshells around everyone - I know that already. Even Lily is getting more comfortable than me.

He shrugs, "Just thought you might be into that."

"And why would you think that?"

"Our age differences."

"There may be a gap between us," I state, wondering when I found the sudden courage. "But, you're not old enough to be my daddy."

His lips twirl up mischievously as he rests it near my ear. "Do you know the term sugar daddy?" he whispers lowly and my face color red. Anthony's finger traces up towards mine, lightly - teasingly. "Am I not your sugar daddy?"

"Am I not your sugar daddy?"
