It may be in the middle of winter
When ice prevails and flowers died a long time ago
It may be cold and gray
Some of my friends may have drifted away
It may be that demons are plotting against me
It's difficult to say for certain what is the the case
It may be that all of my friends are angry
And some of them are angry at me
It may be that I haven't heard a bird sing for months
And the music I'm making is going to waste
--so are the poems--
It may be the middle of winter
But I'm in love and the world looks colorful and wonderful to me.

It may be past midnight
But the morning is coming
I may be past the point of saving
But that's one less obligation to worry about
I may have given up on a lot of things
But that means I can follow through with what I love
I may have lost so much time
But I gained so much from it too
I may have hurt so many people
But I've helped so many of them too
I may look like an idiot when I stand on my own
But I may look brave
I may have had my hopes dashed like flies
But I recently had them renewed, so it doesn't matter anymore
I may have fallen out of love and the world turned black and white,
But now I've fallen back in love and the world looks colorful and wonderful to me.

I can't say that life is any better than it is worse, but this is a colorful and wonderful way of looking at it.
