I smiled back and we looked at the announcer.
"Will the two leaders please step out into the center. I confidently stepped out and so did the skeleton.
"Heyo," he said.
"Yo." I saluted in a joking manner.
"Tonight we witnessed two of the most likely to be best teams ever. They both put up a good show but there can only be one winner. This will work like how it normally does, I will place my hand over each of the leaders separately while they have their eyes closed. The one to get the most applause wins."
I had heard this message multiple times. So had the skeleton because he seemed not to be paying attention.
The announcer shouted for us to close our eyes and we did. After a few seconds of silence, there was a burst of applause and cheers. Since I couldn't see I didn't know which team it was. but boy was it loud.
It went silent again before another burst of applause rang out. Actually, it was more like an explosion. It was definitely louder than the last one.
"Alright then we have a winner." the announcer said. I opened my eyes and was almost instantly tackled by my teammates.
"We did it!" the scream together. I was slightly shocked. After a moment I smiled and hugged the rest of my team.
The watchers came by and congratulated us. I glanced towards the other team and saw that they looked slightly disappointed. All except the short skeleton. He seemed like he didn't really care.
I weaved out of the crowd and jogged over to them.
"Amazing job," I said, standing in front of them. In almost a flash a fish woman was in front of me, glaring me down.
"Who gives you the right to be sarcastic?" she growled. I fell back after she gave me a shove.
I fell to the ground and yelped slightly, my ankle moved in an odd way. I cringed but look back up at them. They all were looking at me.
"No re-really. I didn't think we would actually win." I rushed to explain. I started rambling about how I didn't mean to come off as sarcastic.
"HUMAN," a voice cut me off, "DO YOU REALLY MEAN IT?" a taller skeleton asked. I nodded. His face lit up. "REALLY?! WELL, I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, THANK YOU. YOU ALSO DID WELL." He walked over and helped me up.
I winced at the pain in my ankle but hid it as fast as I could.
"Thanks," I said smiling. The fish lady gave me a cautious look before hitting me on the back.
"Thanks, kid!" she yelled. I felt myself fall but was quickly caught by the smaller skeleton.
"Careful kiddo," he muttered. I looked at him and smiled.
"Thanks. Oh! I'm (Y/n) by the way!" They all started introducing themselves before saying they had to go.
"BYE NEW HUMAN!" Papyrus called. I smiled and waved goodbye.
"Hey! (Y/n)! I'm heading home. Need a lift?" Kochii asked swinging her bag over her shoulder.
"Nah! I'll walk." I said. Kochii nodded and waved.
"You had better call me when you get home or if anything happens. I will beat you otherwise." she threatened. I smiled and waved her off. She laughed before leaving.
I sighed and looked up at the sky. It was silent for a bit.
"You gonna leave yet kiddo?" a voice asked. I jumped and looked up. It was the shorter skeleton. I had never caught his name.
"I probably should," I said, standing up. Almost as soon as I had put pressure on my foot I stumbled.
"Hey!" the skeleton shouted, catching me before I fell. I groaned at the pain before steadying myself.
"Sorry," I muttered.
"What happened?"
"I'm not sure. It may have been when Undyne pushed me." the skeleton went quiet for a second.
"She needs to be careful. I'm sorry."
"No no, It's fine. It was an accident. I'm sure it will be fine in a day or two." I said, waving off his apology. He didn't say anything but bent down in front of me.
"Get on. I'll take you home." I started to argue but he stopped me, "Just get on will you?"
I knew there was no point in arguing and got on. This was when I noticed he was a little taller than me. (Pretend if you're tall like me)
"Where do you live?" he asked.
"(Address)." he nodded and started heading towards my home. We walked in silence for a while before I spoke up.
"What's your name?" he was silent for a while.
"Sans," he finally answered. I nodded.
"Well, Sans. I need to repay you somehow. If you or any of your friends need anything, let me know" I said, stuffing my number into his pocket. He chuckled but continued walking.
After a few seconds, we were at my house. I got down and turned to him.
"Thanks, Sansy," I said, smiling at the nickname. I watched his face go a light blue as he nodded.
"Yeah, it's fine," he replied, tugging his hood down more. I laughed and turned to my house.
"Bye!" I called as I opened my door and stepped inside. I watched Sans wave back before disappearing in a blue flash.
"He teleported..." I muttered in awe. But this brought up the thought.
Why didn't he just teleport me home?
