Chapter 13- BUSTED!

Start from the beginning

"Great." Lara exhaled with a nod. "Just five minutes."

Jayden gently opened the door to see if the coast was clear, and nodded at Lara.

Then he asked, "If they ask you where you were, what are you gonna say?"

"I'll think of something," she hastily said as she stood at the door and poked her head out.

"Bye." She added.

She started to walk away but he smacked her ass before she got away from his reach, then closed his door.

Lara rushed down the stairs like she was being chased by a madwoman and ran past the kitchen, ran into the hallway where their rooms were situated, while glancing back, and suddenly bumped into someone.

"Whoa, Lara, easy." Uncle Sam held her arms.

"Uncle Sam." She sighed.

"What's wrong? Bumping into me again." He chuckled. "Where did you go?"

"I was taking a walk in the uh, garden." She blurted out.

"I'm just coming from there." He said, confused, and she got nervous.

"Uncle Sam," She smiled, "The garden is very big. And yeah I saw you, but I didn't want to be seen."

"Okay," He chuckled confusedly, "If there's something bothering you, I'm here."

"Got it."

But before Sam let her go, Dana popped out of her room.

"Girl!" She was surprised to see Lara, "Where you been? The whole house been looking for you."

Sam smiled and walked away.

"What? The whole house? I was just in the garden." Lara rubbed her neck nervously.

"Are you sure?" Dana stared at Lara with a look she called the 'Mexican stare'.

"Yes, yes. Now I need to go take a shower."

"Hold on." Dana got closer to her and scrutinized her.

"Dana, I don't have t-"

"Wait!" Dana's eyes widened, "What's that?"

"What?" Lara screeched, "What?"

Dana pulled Lara's pullover slightly so her neck was in full view.

"What the- Lara, is that a hickey? That's a fucking hickey."

"What?" Beads of sweat began to form on Lara's forehead, "What are you talking about?"

Dana pulled Lara to Lara's room and brought her to stand in front of the bathroom mirror.

"Look!" She pointed to the red mark on Lara's neck, "See it? Lara, where have you been?"

Lara tried to mask her nervousness and put on a shocked expression, "Omg. It felt like a scratch. I didn't know it would look this bad!"

"What are you talking about?" Dana peered at her through the mirror, confusion basking her face.

"A wasp was flying over my head in the garden and I tried to get it away but it was just all over me. I can't believe you'd think this was a hickey. I'm a little disappointed. I have to treat this." Lara looked upset.

She opened a small cabinet to bring out some cotton and spirit.

Dana looked hella confused, and Lara made sure to look even more upset as she put a few drops of spirit on the cotton and dabbed it on her neck so Dana would believe her.

"Oh..." Dana seemed to have believed it. If not a hundred percent, she still kinda did. "I'm sorry about that. That was just the first thing that came to my head."

Lara shook her head disapprovingly.

Dana continued, "I'm gonna tell them that it's okay. You were just in the garden."

Lara sighed, and Dana left the room.

Lara's act suddenly dropped, and her anxiety rose. She put down the cotton and got closer to the mirror to get a good look at the mark on her neck.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no." She titled her head and it ached. "How am I going to get rid of this?"

She quickly took a shower, wore her uniform, wrapped a scarf around her neck, and headed out.

She went to the garden because Bo, who was in the kitchen, had told her that the other girls were in the garden.

Lara walked out of the house to the garden.

She saw Brie first, before laying eyes on the rest of the girls.

When they laid eyes on her coming towards them, they were excited.

"Lara," Brie walked to her and hugged her, "Dana told us. We were worried sick. Let's see that 'bite' of yours." Brie smirked.

She reeked of sarcasm.

"Hey, hey, it hurts," Lara said, walking towards the girls as Brie followed with that smirk.

"Hey," Lara began, "I'm sorry about this morning. I didn't know it had alarmed all of you."

"Especially Jayden," Katy said.

They were sitting comfortably on the grass; Katy beside Dana, Emma, and Ella. Brie resumed her spot, which was beside Katy.

Katy continued, "This morning he seemed a little pissed. We know you weren't at his place this morning, but," She cleared her throat, "Where were you last night?"

"I was in my room. Ask Rachel." Lara said in her defense.

Emma just watched.

Lara sat down in front of all of them, and Brie spoke,

"Lara, if you're rolling around in Jayden's bed-"

"I'm not." Lara growled and Brie laughed,

"I said 'if', not 'when'. Well the point is, you'll be doing yourself more harm than good."

Lara was curious. She wanted to know why Brie, who was sleeping with Mr. Benson, her boss's husband, was saying such things to her.

But she didn't ask. She would wait for Brie to carry on. And she did.

"Jayden has had about erm," She trailed off with a finger to her lips, as if thinking hard.

Brie then turned to the girls and asked, "How many personal maids so far?"

"Counting Tess, he's had about five," Dana answered.

"Lara," Brie turned to Lara, "You do NOT want to know what happened to these girls."

"What?" Lara panicked, but masked it with sheer curiosity, "What happened?"

"You probably wouldn't work for him again," Brie said, which only made Lara panic even more.

But, Lara had seen Tess, Tess was fine. Not very chatty, but fine. What could Brie possibly be talking about?

"Tess looks alright to me." Lara shrugged.

Brie spoke, "Tess was actually a replacement for a week, but even for only a week, she went through something. You can ask her."

"Just tell me Brie. What's going on?"

Brie turned to the other girls, wanting to know if she should go ahead, and Katy nodded.

Brie turned back to a panic-stricken Lara.

"Buckle up Lara, because you're not gonna like what I'm about to tell you."
