Heartbreak - Poem 64

You have run back to me with a sad face and a shook soul.

I never thought you would, for you were the one to tell me you had to go.

The hardest part is that I will welcome you back.

Over and over again, in fact.

My heart is bleeding in your hands as I gave it back to you, tears in my eyes, a smile on my face.

You take it, the bloody mess that I have become in the short time of being lost.

But now it is not us that has created an obstacle.

Now others step in, taking my arm, pulling my hand from yours.

And now I have to say my last goodbye, this ending was never my intention.

Please don't hold onto my arm, it will make it harder on you.

Please don't call my name, it will remind me of what we lost.

And it wasn't even one of the two of us that caused so much of this heartbreak.
