Summary:
Reagan is determined to die.
It is 3 a.m and she is driving her dad's pickup truck to the Licking Bridge that is mere shambles above the 400-foot deep ravine. She has a gun in a Harvard bag in the passenger seat and suicide notes shoved into the glove compartment.
Her plan is as concrete as the as the ground she plans to hit and the bullet she will take to the head. She is traveling on a desolate, silent road, one that was obscured from view.
That is why she doesn't expect to see a girl in the middle of the road.
The girl is a rebellious, sarcastic spirit who doesn't give a damn about anyone but herself. A rebel who is trying to get from Ohio to New York to escape what she called the 'bandages of the boring'.
Out of guilt and the need for a distraction, promises are made. Reagan promises to take the girl to the nearest bus. And then she promises herself she would die.
The rebel promises she wouldn't let that happen
