we were in a grocery store because y/n wanted ice cream even though it was cold outside and half past midnight. we stood there for a while because she couldn't decide what flavor she wanted.
"you're so indecisive" i tease
she hits my arm playfully "shut up and let me look"
i wait and watch her eyes scan over every carton in the freezer
"how about we buy every flavor then" i say
she laughs
it was a kind of laugh i could listen to for the rest of my life.
she was only in sweats, hair so messy from being in bed all afternoon.
but in that moment, i knew that i was in love with her.
and all we were doing was looking for ice cream.
