"y-y/n" ethan mumbled from my bed
"yes baby boy?" i ask looking at his flushed cheeks
"w-when are you going to be done?" he asks shyly, pushing his thick framed glasses further up his nose
"i don't know, eth. but it's due tomorrow and i need to make sure i get a good grade on it"
he slowly nods as i turn back to my computer screen, rereading a part of my essay
ethan's pov
i watched her stare at the bright screen, typing away. highlighting a few lines and pressing the backspace every so often. she was concentrated on the essay in front of her and payed no attention to me.
i tried to get her to notice me several times, but i failed miserably. she continued to ignore me as i continued to feel sad.
i didn't even realize i was crying until i felt the tears gliding down my cheeks
i try to contain my sobs, but i accidentally let a few escape.
she doesn't notice though. she's too busy to acknowledge me, let alone my feelings
she doesn't care anyways. she only cares about getting a good grade on that essay.
all i want is a little attention from her
y/n's pov
i'm adding finishing touches on my essay when i hear quiet sobs. i look over at my bed and see ethan curled up in a ball with tears running down his cheeks.
my heart breaks at the sight
i rush over and sit beside him, resting my hand on his back trying to sooth his shaking body "ethan"
he doesn't respond, but his sobs die down
i lean down and kiss his wet cheek "baby"
he looks up at me through his watery eyes
"what's wrong?"
he wipes his eyes and sits up, looking at me "y-you were ignoring me. d-do you not love me anymore?"
"of course i still love you ethan and i didn't mean to ignore you, baby. i just wanted to finish my essay so that i could spend time with you."
his eyes light up "r-really?"
i smile "yes. i was thinking we could have a movie night"
"l-like netflix and chill?"
i laugh "sure"
"n-no actual netflix and chill?"
i smile as i look down at his rosy cheeks "if you really want to, we can"
he smiles widely "i-i really want to"
"then we will" i whisper before gently smashing my lips on his
