Train, oh train, take me far far away.
And leave my brain, if just for the day.
I'm tired, oh tired, of the way things have been,
And I have so desired to escape this prison-pen.
I see, I see, the strength that you carry.
And I want to be free, free as a fairy.
But freedom takes work,
And I hear your cries in the night,
Giving this town a bit of a fright.
Your howls can be heard over the rain.
You're not alone, dear train,
Not alone, ever again.
