"Nope. May talent ata ako pagdating sa ganyan." I winked at them and we laugh our ass off habang papalabas kami ng elevator.
We saw some of the Green Archers sitting on the bleachers kakatapos lang siguro ng training nila. Kuya Kib suddenly stood up noong nakita niya si Ate Des at bigla naman niya itong binigyan ng Gatorade. We always ask Ate Des about the real score between them pero lagi niyang sinasabi na bestfriends lang daw sila. Sus, if I know dun lang din ang bagsak nun.
"Girls huddle muna tayo," Coach Ramil said. We all went to his direction at nagmeeting.
"Wednesday is fast approaching kaya kailangan na natin magdouble time sa training. But for now, two hours lang training natin dahil may meeting kami mamayang 5 pm. By tomorrow, babalik tayo sa dati nating training hours. Okay?"
"Yes coach," we all said in unison.
Nagstart kami ng warm ups, then nagdrills kami. Coach focused on my sets para masanay na daw ako dahil by season 80, I will replace ate KAF I'll be the new setter of La Salle.
"Cobb, i-back set mo kay Kianna!" Coach Ramil said at dali-dali ko naman 'yong ginawa and then boom. Down the line ulit spike ni Ate Kianna.
"Nice one Cobb, kay Majoy naman!" he instructed. My sets are improving naman sabi ni coach, I guess I just need to jump higher para mas ma-perfect ang open sets. I'm a smol litol bean kaya medyo nahihirapan ako sa open and back sets.
Our training ended at 4:30 and we all decided to go back to our dorm para magfreshen up dahil sabay sabay daw kaming magdi-dinner ng mga Archers sa Mcdo. Medyo nag-aalinlangan pa akong sumama. It's not like I'm against na kasama sila. It's just, nagwo-worry ako dahil baka ma-OP ako doon.
"Baby rookie, tara na!" I heard Ate KAF's voice outside of my room. "Hindi nalang po ako sasama!" I shouted back and I heard her sigh, "Mag-isa ka lang dito sige ka... Balita ko may nagla-lakad daw na white lady dito sa dorm." pagbabanta niya pero natawa lang ako.
"I'm not a kid para lokohin mo Ate. Just go. I'm fine here," I said at hinubad ang sandals na dapat susuotin ko. Narinig ko naman ang footsteps niya na papaalis kaya humiga na ako sa kama at tinitigan ang kisame. I was close to sleeping when I heard several loud knocks from the door.
"Michelle Monique Cobb!" I heard Aduke's voice calling my name. Instead of opening the door for her, tinakpan ko ang tenga ko para hindi ko marinig ang boses niya.
"Mich!" and this time, si Ate Cyd na naman ang tumatawag sa akin. I heard the door clicked, so it means nabuksan nila iyon. I quickly close my eyes and pretended that I'm already sleeping. Knowing Ate Kianna, siguro binigay niya kila Aduke 'yung duplicate key para gisingin ako. Hindi naman ako tulog, nagtutulog-tulogan lang.
"Michelle!" Ate Kianna shouted near my ears. Automatic akong napa-mulat dahil sa sobrang gulat. I heard the three of them (Ate Cyd, Ate Kianna and Aduke) chuckled.
"Dinner na tayo, you have no choice. Walang pagkain dito sa dorm," Ate Kianna pulled my arms, I lazily stood up from my bed and I wore my sandals again.
I swear. My teammates can be annoying sometimes.
We all went to the nearest Mcdo branch and ginamit nila 'yung pick up ni Ate Kianna para mabilis na kami makapunta doon. When we arrived, sakto naman dumating ang Green Archers — they weren't complete though. Their famous rookie's missing.
Hindi naman ako nabo-bother. Curious lang.
Pumasok na kami sa loob at kinuha nila 'yung pinaka-long table — long table means pinagdikit dikit nila yung ibang tables para magkasya kami. Just imagine guys, ang dami namin sa isang mahabang table. Good thing the manager of this branch allowed us to use the party room dahil wala naman daw gagamit.
"Sino pinakabata sa Lady Spikers?" Aljun asked while chuckling. Bigla naman nanlamig ang buong sistema ko... There, I already knew what they're trying to do. Kung sino 'yung pinakabata 'yun yung uutusan nila mag-order.
"Si Michelle," Ate KAF answered. "Ay, obvious nga sa height." Brent butted in at pinandilatan ko siya ng mata. "Umayos ka ng buhay mo, Paraiso. Baka gusto mo makakita ng panda na sinunog dito sa Mcdo." I joked and he laughed, "Sorry Madam, di na po uulit."
"Eh, sa Archers sino pinakabata?" I asked and I heard Brent gulped.
Gotcha.
"Si Bren—" but before Kuya Kib continue what he was saying bigla naman pumasok si Ricci sa loob. "—si Ricci." sabi niya at napatingin naman si Ricci.
"Huh?" he asked.
"Yes, I love you bro! Niligtas mo ako!" Brent jump out of joy at niyakap-yakap niya pa si Ricci. Konti nalang talaga guys, I'll consider Brent as a gay.
"Kayo mag-oorder ni Michelle sa counter tutal kayo ang pinakabata." Andrei grinned at him and I roll my eyes at them.
I should have stayed at the dorm!
