rosie
"happy birthday my baby!" i say as she comes running downstairs.
she pulls me into a hug but is only tall enough to hug my legs.
"i made you your special pancakes and bacon breakfast!" i say as i pick her up and place her on a stool.
"thank you mommy." she says as she digs into her breakfast.
"i love you vanessa." i say as i pull her into a hug.
"i love you too mommy."
shit like this makes me emotional, how can i do this to my own child? how can i let her be raised without a father to cherish her like i do? i hate myself for it but i guess time will tell and i just have to be patient for someone to love both of us.
after she scarfs down her food and milk she jumps off the stool.
"come on, lets get you ready for school." i say as i pick her up and walk up the stairs.
after getting her dressed, packing her bag and handing her lunch-i could finally take her to school.
i place her in the back seat of my white range rover and put on her seatbelt before giving her a kiss on the forehead.

after dropping her off i quickly make my way back home so i could set up for the party. i took the day off for this special occasion.
i pull my phone out as i walk inside the house and scroll through my contacts.
"ah, leah!" i say as i find her contact.
(r-rosie, l-leah)
l: hey babe!
r: hi hun, i just dropped her off at kindergarten. are you good to come over?
l: yes, i'll be over soon!
r: okay tha-
l: who you talking to babe?
i hear someone in the background say.
l: oh just rosie, i'm going to hers to help with vanessa's birthday party!
r: see you soon babe!
i end the call and sigh. if only i could find someone to love again but i am happy for her! i'm glad she's happy.
hours later
vanessa and all of her friends were running around the kitchen. i laugh when i see all the smiles on their faces, i wish i was young again. i walk away from the huddle of parents that were here for the kids, waiting for leah to come back with josie and the mystery boyfriend that she's been dating for a month of so.
i wonder what he's like. i wonder if he'll love her like i loved cameron. i wonder if he's good enough for someone so great like her.
i hear a knock on the door and open it to see leah holding josie.
"hey!" she says as she pulls me into a hug, "i'm sorry about josie earlier and how i couldn't make it to the party!"
"hello." i say to josie, playing with her hand as she giggles, "and it's fine." i laugh.
she walks in and i close the door behind them.
"where's the boyfriend?" i playfully say as i nudge her arm.
"he's just getting vanessa's present from the car, he won't be long!" she says as she lets josie onto the ground to go to vanessa.
there was a knock on the door and leah brightly smiled, "i'll get it!"
i nod as i walk over and crouch down to vanessa and josie.
"look how cute she is!" vanessa says about josie.
"just like you babe." i say giving her a kiss on her cheek.
i hold both their hands and hum the happy birthday theme song as both of them dance around.
"rosie, meet my boyfriend!" i hear.
i pick up vanessa, hold josie's hand and turn around.
my head starts to hurt, my eyes widened and i started to feel sick.
"are you okay rosie?" leah asks me.
i put vanessa on the ground next to josie.
"yeah, i'll be back." i say before running up the stairs and going into my bedroom.
my breathing starts to become heavy and my legs come up to my chest as i sit on the floor-just like when he left.
slowly, i watch my door open. and he walks in.
cameron walks in.
i jump up and start backing up, my breathing gets even heavier.
"rosie?" he asks.
"ge-get out, i don't want you to be here." i stutter as my throat started to become tight.
"it's okay rosie." he says as he sticks his hand out.
i rapidly shoot backwards as he walks forward.
"stop- just stop!" i scream before dropping to the ground and crying.
"please stop! i'm not going to hurt you." he calmly says.
"you've already hurt me cameron."
