Her name was Elise Iver, she had deep green eyes that stared into the depths of your soul. Her mascara was coated heavily on her delicate lashes. Her eyes, which her eyeliner framed, captured yours when you took a glance. Her thin eyebrows looked so dainty it complimented her eyes. Lightly pressed freckles danced on her raised cheekbones drawing you in. Her full plump rounded lips had a deep red lipstick painted on them like a canvas, making them look almost irresistible. Finally the cherry on the cake, her pin-straight hair flowed like a river to her dainty petite hips. She was perfect.
She grinned as she came close to my ear. Sending trickles down my spine.
"Hey, so are you ready to go?" Her voice was so soft, her breath tickled my delicate ear. She placed a light kiss on my cheek. We turned around hand in hand ready to jump into the car.
She lay there sunbathing her warm honey skin on the blanket which was lightly pressed to the fresh green grass.
"Are you done with those sandwiches Eli?" I asked before placing them in the basket. She sat up and propped her sunglasses on her sun-kissed brown hair.
"Yes." She said at almost a whisper. She glanced at me with a wicked smile and eyes that danced.
Did she know my plan? Or is she thinking of something entirely different? My palms became sweaty and my breath became heavy. I had to put her off. I had to give her a distraction.
"Elise Iver we have been together for one and a half years, what do you say about moving into a place of our own?" I said with a wide grin. I grabbed a napkin and dabbed the sauce from the corner of her round plump lips.
"Let's do it! If it means I get to spend more time with you then let's do it." She said gleaming. Her eyes lighting up like a thousand candles.
Guilt hit me like a wave on a stormy night. I knew our lives clash and it's been that way for a while. I hated not being able to see her more often than we do.
I grinned, "dinner at mine later?"
She nodded with definite declaration. Her beautiful smile gleamed in the summer sun as her eyes widened with grace.
A candlelit dinner was stood before us on the balcony of my place overlooking the city lit up in the night sky. It was much beyond a dream home. With the stunning veiws of the city nightlife.
"Out into the out suburbs, what do you say the best of both? You can go and splash some cash at Harvey Nick's and we can live in a nice house in peace without the disturbance of traffic and fumes." I said staring at her sparkling eye. She edged her head towards the city and looked out onto it.
"But isn't the view great?" she replied. A slight breeze waved through her hair empowering her glory.
"But just think of the views we could get out there! The air will be so much more clear than here. We will be safe." I bargained
"Sound's quite the life!" she smiled and reached out her soft hands which folded over mine. She leaned over and pecked me on my head with her plump soft lips.
I closed my apartment door shut. The urge came over me. It was happening again. I couldn't. I shook my head and poured myself another glass of deep red wine. The colour swished through my mind. I needed to shut my mind off. I needed to stay inside. But I couldn't resist it. I needed satisfaction.
A silver shiny blade. Too shiny. It needed a touch added to it. A man off his rocker, pretty lanky was knocking around the streets. Failing to walk in a straight line he swayed around. I knew then, I had him. Easy. It was dark. My heart was pounding, but I wouldn't be satisfied until I did it. I lurked behind him and swung. It was quick and painless for him and satisfactory for me. In the future, they'll thank me I know they will, we can't have our streets riddled with drunkards.
I opened my eyes and splashed myself with water and watched as the drops rolled off my face. I hated myself for it. I needed help, but no one would understand, and I couldn't bare to see myself losing Elise. I was longing for the feeling to go away. I crawled into bed and shut my eyes for the last time that day.
It was finally moving day. I came in with a new load, thrilled at the sight of our new, clean family home. I spent time thinking on expanding my family with Elise here and thinking about our kids growing up here.
"Is that the last of them?" Eli smiled. I looked back into the moving van.
"Yep" I called back. It was finally happening, me and Elise in our own home and better yet I have found a place to store my hobby.
I stepped into the house and reached for her chin.
Her skin was like velvet. I pulled her in for a kiss.
I couldn't help but fall in love with her, over and over again. But another body is another day I spend with guilt striking through me as I look into her promising gaze. The move was for the best, a fresh start, a new beginning.
It was dark still. I glanced at my watch. 03:15. Great who tonight. I walked down the dead and eery street suddenly regretting my suburban decision noticing how bleak the streets were at night. The city center is where I needed to be.
I disappeared around the corner hoping for luck. Just by chance, I spotted a rugged old man ruffled in a sleeping bag in the doorway of an abandoned coffee shop. I crouched down and inhaled the vulnerablity and the fragility he held around him.
"Ehem" I cleared my throat. The staved sod gave me a sideways glance. Grunted then turned his head back. "Any luck on a job today?" I said softly and sat opposite him on the tarred ground. He sat up and shook his head and hung it low. "Here come and take a walk with me. Grab a coffee. Let's get yourself looking presentable. I own a hotel, I can offer you a job and a place to sleep. " He slumped back again. I tilted my head.
"It's no use, you're wasting your time, I have no skills" he grunted. I sighed.
"We have fully trained staff on site who are educated to train others joining the team. They are lovely and welcoming and will make sure you have all the skills you need for the job" I explained.
"Fine." He said, "But you're wasting your time." He grunted and finally left his space. He stood next to me and started to walk ahead. Now was my time.
I crept behind him knife to the throat. It didn't take long. A few short bloody seconds.
It's not like they had a family, or a job and a life worth living. They just littered the streets. Left it messy. It was better if I got rid of them. Like recycling.
I walked home chirpy. It was sick. I was sick. I was twisted, but I couldn't stop. It was my sweet addiction.
I quietly opened the door. Crept down the cellar stairs and lifted the three broken floor boards, and slid the body under.
I had just disposed the gloves when the lovely lady of my life walked in.
"What time do you call this?" She yawned. Her hair was in all sorts of directions, But she still looked irresistible.
I glanced at my watch. 04:45
" I like a jog on a morning " I smiled falsely. She wouldn't understand. If I told her the truth.
"Yeah? Dressed all in black?" She questioned. I could feel myself heating up and struggled to remain calm. My stomach twisted in a tight knot.
"Yet uh it's weird but it inspires me" I ruffled through my hair in discomfort. I hated lying to her.
"Okay if you say so" she chirped and disappeared around the corner to the lounge.
