Katie walked around the planet for a few minutes before finding a large area of houses. She ran over to it, smiling as she did so. The people there noticed her and gathered around at her approach.

"Hello! Our shuttle landed here and we can't leave because of our ruined wing. I was hoping we could stay with you guys until we fix it," she said as polite as possible. She was breathing hard, but her words were clear.

One of the aliens stepped forward, its eight arms opened wide. "You must be from that ship we saw fly down on fire," he said, his voice surprisingly high. Katie nodded. "I'm Foré, nice to meet you. We will welcome you and your friends to our beloved kingdom."

Katie smiled and thanked the alien. "I'll go gather the others and we'll come here," she informed before running off. The shuttle was not far from the civilians, but far enough that you couldn't spot it.

When she arrived, she informed the translator and pilot. "A kingdom is right around those tall purple trees. They will welcome us," she said, earning a relieved smile from both.

"Good. I'll tell the others," the translator said, walking away. The pilot turned away from her, pushing a button.

"Get a rope, we have to pull the ship over there," he informed, pointing at a compartment as he put the ship in hover mode. "She can't fly, but hovering is something she can do. Though, I'm afraid you can't fly her while she's in hover mode."

Katie smiled and grabbed the rope. "Let's do this," she said. The two exited and wrapped the rope around the hovering ship. The translator had sent the aliens to the city and began to pick fallen pieces of the shuttle out of the grey-purple sand.

He put the pieces safely inside and helped haul the shuttle over to the city. It took twice the amount of time it did for the aliens to arrive. She was welcomed by Foré with drinks in all eight of his hands. He gave three to her and the boys.

"Thank you," the pilot said, nodding in respect to the ruler of the planet. Katie bowed like humans would in the early age. The translator only smiled.

"I'm Foré, who are you two?" he asked. Katie was also interested in their names, but she was ushered off by some of the children she saved.

"Thank you," one of them said. Katie was shocked that she understood what he just said. "I know you can't speak our language," the child said as if clarifying her thoughts.

"Is that so?" Katie asked, willfully being pulled through the crowd. She looked above as the stars began to come out. She wondered where Shiro was for the first time since he disappeared. She promised herself to find him, her mother, and home.

Matt looked at the walls of the room he was given. He had hoped it would be close to Allura's, but it wasn't, so there would be no 'accidentally' bumping into each other in the hallway. He looked at his cluttered desk. It was full of projects and whatnots, but to him it seemed a little empty.

Building stuff had always been Katie's favorite. Now every time he was working on one of the devices, he thinks of her. He had a robot pal that he stole from a galra ship that he named Rover, in honor of his past dog. That pal of his sacrificed itself for him.

Now he couldn't even look at technology without feeling pain and guilt. Shiro had told him that his sister was okay, but he couldn't help but feel that she wasn't. His mother was supposedly off at a camp, but he couldn't imagine his sweet ole' mother working like she was a jew in a concentration camp.

He couldn't help but feel it was like that. He longed for his sister's hug and his mother's warm lips against his forehead. He wanted them both so bad. Now he had left his beloved father behind on accident. The only option he had was to save his family and return to his dad.

Matt only hoped that he was fine at home. Samuel had took his wife and daughter's supposed deaths hard. Matt knew he got depression and suicidal thoughts, despite his efforts to hide his sorrow from Matt.

Matt only hoped those thoughts didn't conjure Samuel while he was gone. A knock came from the door and Matt walked to the entrance. It swished open and Allura awaited on the other side.

"I know your missing your mother and sister...," she started, looking at the ground, "I want you to know that I'm here for you if you need someone to comfort you. I lost my family and my people thanks to Zarkon. We're in this together now."

Matt was surprised at her arrival, but he nodded. He held his head low to hide the tears in his eye. Allura wrapped her arms around him in a hug. She calmly shushed him and spoke. "Let it all out, Matt. No sense in hiding your pain. The mice told me that you cried yourself to sleep, so I came to comfort you."

Matt just stayed limp in her arms for a moment before hugging her back and letting the tears fall. He buried his face in her shoulder as the two sunk to the floor. She was right, he missed them so much. Every night he dreamt of them.

It took a while for his tears to stop flowing, but when they did he asked Allura if they could chat. "You miss your father and your people too, right? Don't you need to cry? You're my shoulder to cry on and I could be yours too," he whispered, loud enough for her to hear.

Tears threatened to spill and she hugged him before standing. "I might take you up on that offer. We should sleep. Zarkon could attack tomorrow or tonight and as a paladin of Voltron, you need your sleep," she said and walked out the door. Matt felt like running after her, but she was right.

He needed sleep. The bags under his eyes agreed with her.

YESSS TWO MORE ChAPTERRRSS! I hope you guys enjoyed sappy Matt. Don't kill me for Matt angst! ;;;;
